I would like to know from you ladies how you trim your hair (everyone, but especially shoulder length).
Here's a picture of how I've been doing it for a very long time. The good news is that it's becoming more abundant. The bad news is that I don't find it working for me anymore. Any advice..etc.
Thanks LHCF

I only trim my hair when it has been straightened. I just ask my mother to take of the dead ends (about half an inch every couple of months). Ultimately I want to have WL blunt cut (no layers). My mother is the only one I trust because she trims what NEEDS to be trimmed and doesn't try and get exquisite with it.

I trim my hair when it's in medium size twists. After I'm done twisting, I just trim off the unsavory bits.

My husband trims my hair about every 8-10 weeks or so (depending on the moon phase...if it's waxing). I also straighten it first.
I don't blame you. It must be someone you absolutely trust. :yep:

I don't worry about my hair being uneven lol. If you are concerned about evenness, this method may not be the best for you.

There's a pretty good book called Haircutting for Dummies that I read before I started trimming my hair. It's pretty repetitive, but I learned a lot about angles and how the way you cut will affect the results. I would check it out of the library or borrow it from a friend because it's ok, but not great.

My stylist trims mine in sections after he straightens it. Then he combs the sections out and checks to see if the ends are even. If not, he trims just a little more.

Hmmm..thinking about this point.
Now I'm knit-picking and wondering how "uneven" it will be? :ohwell:
Thanks. I'll have to wait and see then.

Rats, I checked my local library and they don't have this book.
I'll keep it in the back of my mind though. :yep:
Thanks
