spinoff: How do you trim your hair

I hate doing spinoffs but i would like to know how do y'all trim your hair?

I have layers. I hold my hair straight out and trim going up. I trim my all of my hair to keep the layers looking sharp. I will post a pic later of what I'm taking a bout.

I just started doing my own trimming last month. I have layers that I'm trying to grow out. So I put all my hair in a clip at the top of my head and then part starting at the neck, straight across. I trim that layer evenly with super sharp scissors. I continue going to the next layer until I get to the top of my ears.

Then I take the hair (top of my ears and above) and comb it straight up and just snip off the ends that are shaggy. I cut straight across. This is really helping me grow out my layers. The down side is I like to trim whenever I see a stray hair. (laughs)

My goal is to have my hair all one thick healthy length.
