LOL... I remember rocking a fingerwave style in the early 90's. It was waved all the way up into a "pump". Remember those too? Fingerwaves was a lazy style that would last 2, maybe 3 weeks and your head would itch something fierce by week two.

Hey, come to think about it, Missy Elliott was still rocking them not too long ago LOL.:lachen:

Girl there were cows right across the path ( I won't even say road or street because it was neither.)
Most folks think MS is the country anyway but where we live is nothing compared to what i saw last week....On the way to finding the church there was a horse tried up to a tree in the front yard eating grass.

Across the street from my grandparents house were horses that came up to the fence to greet you.

:giggle: Yes, Gloster is a small town we just renovated their Town Hall. I think we bought a loading trailer from a small hardware store in Gloster? The Hwy that connects Gloster to Woodville. Anyway your Grands place sounds like heaven.:look::yep:

It brought back a lot of memories for me. It's been 25 yrs since i was last there (great grand live there and grands moved in when she died) I remembered the homemade biscuits, syrup, eating sugar cane, picking peas, skipping rocks at the near by creek and taking off my shoes and sinking my feet in the wet sand. That was the best food to me and hopes to really learn how to cook like that. I am on my way but there is room for improvement.

Oh and riding the one horse they had bare back. As much as i talk about the countriness i would love for my kids to experience what i have experienced.

That sounds like heaven. I tell my kids they don't know how blessed they are to grow up in this environment with this moma.:yep:

I NEVER liked fingerwaves. Once two days pass, they get messed up and make you look like a crazy person. They still doing jherri curls down south too. Lawdy.

Yeah i have viewed your blog numerous times and wished i could do the camping trips with the kids i think they would get a kick out of it. Believe me what you are doing are going to be happy memories for them later on.:yep:

I didn't even thing of it, we got lost in those back woods. Was 6 min late for the funeral. Going down path that look like grass and rocks were suppose to be roads...i was sooo mad. My dad had to come out on a major road to find us and when we followed him to the church i was like there is no way in hell we would have found this.

LOL

I went to a funeral like that down there. We were driving down the wrong dirt road and had to turn around. People were on their porch looking at us. Cell phone would not work. I was like, why grandma wanted to be buried out here. I would not be able to find her grave for nothing!! But that is what she wanted.

Oh yeah that reminds me in the pew i was sitting next to a lady with a jherri curl and all i could smell was jherri curl juice!:ohwell:

Hey a horse that is high class darling. In the city where one of my Grandmothers was born (Adieh Keyieh) which means Red Dirt in the local language there was a Goat at the city hall that ate the grass. Too hilly for a lawnmower. A horse is high steppin honey.

Ummmm y'all so B"OUGIE

I have seen the rings on every finger in the certain Latino communities also. Puerto Rican, Mexican. They got their own flavour of ghetto. As we all do cause my people ain't no better Cause Habesha people Lawdie be. But I do lot of work in the Latino community and this is what I notice with certian people Rings on every finger. Black lip liner, Sharpie drawn in eyebrows hair stiff with gel long or short 10 piercings on each ear and arses Sqoozed and stuffed into the tightest outfit that you can wear even some of them though look like Spongebob Squarepants from the neck down.

Lean like a Chola

yeah the cell phone was working sometimes and at my grandparent house the cell would only work outside...we had sticks in the ground telling you well the towers were so your phone could work....picture people out walking around trying to find them...just crazy

:lachen::lachen::lachen:My great uncle does that. He has 100's of acreas but only has 10 fenced in. He never cuts his grass he just moves the horses around to different areas of his property and they eat it. It's actually smart of him to do that.

I think they thought it was cute. I always wondered how you sleep with the pineapple hairdo? Women would keep their hair like that for weeks. My brother dated a woman that always had weird styles, (she was in my wedding with one of those styles:perplexed) I asked her how she was able to have sex with her hair like that.:perplexed

:lachen:

btw LOVE your blog! i want some of that cake!!!

I think close to Mcomb but not sure

Yes. Right in the same area. She was 45 mins away from me. You should have called me Eyunka.

This is where my son's grandparents live, he visits them every summer..

I remember the first time I went down there..it was like another world! Everyone had all this land..and animals...deer heads on the wall...homemade everything..I don't think anything came from a box!

They laughed at me because I didn't know what a muscadine was..
( I'm a city-slicker ) :lachen::lachen::lachen:

The only drawback...which brings me back to the topic..is the fashion and shopping were a little..:sad::sad:

I told my - ex..you know I could never live down here, right? :lachen::lachen:

In my home state (LA) it's required that you do finger waves on your mannequin's head before you can get your cosmetology license! GROSS!

I would wear finger waves. I like hairstyles from the 40s and 50s. In fact, I wore one yesterday that was really cute if I do say so myself. Styles come in and out. As long as people are having fun, Idc what decade style comes from.

Thank you.:yep:

I love that pic..it's too cute!! i'm used to the deer heads now...LOL

When I first saw one..it took my breath away .:blush::blush:

I was like OMG!! You killed that poor deer! They all thought I was hilarious!

They went on to talk about all the deer meat they had, all the while I'm thinking deer meat? :ohwell::ohwell::ohwell:

My son's grandparents have a muscadine tree in their yard! They were trying to show me how to eat it...I was supposed to squeeze the grape juice in my mouth (??)

I live in Memphis, so I thought I lived down South..but it was totally different. I felt out of place, I was the source of everyone's laughter..the whole weekend! They couldn't believe I was so "city-fied" !!

But it is sooooooooooo peaceful down there!

I grew to love it..

I have always hated those hard plastered styles. Freez curls, waterfalls, and finger waves. They all look a torched mess!:eek2:

Why weren't you at the meeting miss lady?

Yea, WHY!!!

Wow, what a blast from the past - funny I saw someone with finger waves just yesterday, I thought I was in a throw back or something. :D

I used to rock those finger waves back in the day, and I thought I was really hot too! How embarassing thinking back! That ish used to itch like crazy after a few days!

Ya gotta admit though - when the fingerwaves were out - there were some that looked pretty d*** good!!! Especially those with that tight wave pattern and shine - not the ones that were scratched up after about a week ...lol

I saw some fingerwaves today
