I currently use Curl Junkie and LOVE IT ....

But they've upped the price AND shipping costs these days. So in the span of 4 months I went from spending about $17 total for 8oz ... to now $24 total. I'll keep on spending that much if I have to but ...

I'm eyeing the SitriNillah Masque really hard and wonder if it will do just as good a job? I want to hear some reviews on 4b hair first:

Is it moisturizing? Does it leave your hair soft? Etc.?

I tried it and wasn't a fan. I tried to DC with heat and without heat. Both ways left my hair just blah. I get more moisture from cheapie conditioners. To get rid of it I mixed it with some other stuff and used it as a leave in moisturizer. Maybe I used it wrong or needed to clarify, but I wouldn't purchase it again. The smell is heavenly though.

I haven't used it...but I have read the comments about some of the ladies who used this...mostly negative-- it didn't do anything for thier hair...but again, I haven't tried it; so this isn't coming from mo

I tried SitriNillah Masque from Hairveda and really liked it. I find it works best applied to dry hair and with heat (I use a steamer cap). After I rinse it out, I use a very mild no-poo (Hairveda Amala Cream Rinse) to keep the softness and slip. Using the masque after shampooing didn't seem to do much for my hair either.

:look: Can I answer?

I like it but it's not a staple. I find it works best as a pre shampoo on dry hair when I'm coming out of kinky twists. I'm not wowed and the ingredients are average. I feel you on CJ. I only purchased it because curlmart.com had free shipping and they recently had a flat $7.99 shipping. That's the only time I'll buy CJ but I'll stock up when I do. Have you looked into Jessicurl WDT? If you try it and like it they offer a nice deal when you buy (3) 8 oz bottles or the gallon.

Im a 4a/b and I am looking for products that are great for my hair. Loulou82 and loohalooh, what does the curl junkie do for you? How does it affect your hair?

CJ Hibiscus and Banana Deep Fix is a deep conditioner. The revamped formula is thick and creamy. It moisturizes the hair very well and leaves it very soft. It smells exactly like that old-school pink bubble gum. If I had to pick my top 3 moisturizing conditioners it would be Jessicurl WDT, AO HSR, and Curl Junkie.

Loo: This site sells CJ for less- http://www.curlicious.com/?manufacturers_id=17. Shescentit's Banana Brulee Conditioner may be comparable to CJ.

^^^ Thanks mucho for the review.

Any other 4bs?

I don't like it... wanted to though. :nono: Glad all I got was a sample. If you want a great DC, you can't go wrong with Pantene R&N DC mask. It's perfect... great smell, softens the hair, melts NG, and gives really great slip. And it's about $5 I think. :yep:

I'm a 4a and unfortunately it did not work for me as a deep conditioner. I may try to use it on dry hair as a pre-poo as I love the scent.

My Pantene Breakage Defense Mask works wonderfully as a deep moisturizing conditioner.

:nono: It didn't work for me at all. I ended up exchanging it on the exchange part of the board.

Ooh-wee. I missed that free shipping deal. :ohwell: Thanks for the Jessicurl suggestion. I'll definitely look into that. I'm really loving this Curl Junkie but if a less expensive DC is comparable ... I'm on it.

I'm with Lou. It does a good job moisturizing and softening the hair. I like it because I don't have to add anything (like oils, honey, etc.) to enhance it. You know how some ladies say their hair feels like butter? I never had the experience until I tried Curl Junkie.

Wow ... now this price is more acceptable. :grinwink: Thanks for the site recommendation! Now I just gotta finish up the $24 container I bought. LOL. And Thanks for another suggestion. I'll look into Shescentit as well.

I've heard a lot of people mention Pantene R&N. I may look into that as well. Thanks for the suggestion.
