so a semi-permanent rinse is considered a protein treat?

They help seal the cuticle which can give you the fortifying benefits like a light protein treatment. I wouldn't say they are substitutes for protein treatments, if anything they are little fortifying treats.

I've never heard of this before. Help me understand this:

-Is it safer than box color?
-Just how permanent is semi-permanent?

Wow. I've never heard of that before. I wouldn't follow that advice though.
It varies for each person. But when I DC right after a semi-perm rinse, the hair color actually washes off. My stylist advises me to wait 24 hours to Deep condition to allow the color to fully penetrate into the hair.

thank you ladies! I'm going to do this after my relaxer next week.
ETA: I was told by a stylist that this would make a good protein treatment after a relaxer. I always did then after and still did a protein treatment this may be too much
