How do you cure Ratty/ Frizzy ends?

i would like to know too. i'm natural and just straightened my hair this weekend. my ends look so sorry. i dont want to cut :nono:

When I pressed my Mom's hair, I did the "chase the comb" technique with a soft boar bristle round brush. Even though her natural 4a hair had not been trimmed in a year, her ends still came out smooth. I gave her a dusting, all the same. But that had more to do with evening her hair a bit than rattiness or frizz.

yes i have this problem as well. My ends are NOT spilt, and are chemical free! WTF? Why do they look so raggedy? They only look like that when my hair is ironed straight. Am i doing something wrong?

Ive been searching for an answer myself. I think I read someone saying that using Vitamin E helped. I have not idea why my ends seemed swollen and frizzy all of a sudden even though they arent split. The only real change I've made is blowdrying and using a roundbrush.

Im willing to try anything. I dont even use heat on my haie besides monthly length checks.

If ur ends aren't split the clarify & try a KiyaFizzle :) ...it's been known to smooth ur ends & prolong the time between trims.

I read on here that adding a tsp of salt to your final rinse conditioner helps to smooth ends before straightening.

I was just going to suggest this. Try it and see if you like it. I know when JustKiya suggested that to me, I was in love. My ends were less frizzy, but I also did get a trim some time later, just to even things up.

Would a ACV rinse help too?

You guys I don't have ALL the answers here, but I wills say that my ends have been there...let me tell ya.

So here is what I do: If they are split - cut them or trim slowly over time
If they are just frizzy and big then I stopped using heat on them, started rollersetting and made sure to moisturize my ends and seal with oil.

I'm texlaxed so I keep in mind that my ends are mostly natural whereas the rest of my hair has been processed slightly with chemicals. I recently stopped using my Sedu and that made a major difference in my hair. I'm almost APL now! Hurray!

I hope this helps someone. You don't always have to cut the ends to make them behave.

I second stop using heat to eliminate frizzy end. You cut for splits not for frizzies. A whole section of my hair was a frizzy mess years ago from curling everyday without using a heat protector. I stopped the curling and I also used ORS Carrot Oil and tada! No more frizzy ends!

Since you're relaxed, I would second clarifying and DCing.

When did you last deep condition your hair?

What have you done to your hair since then?

Then start fresh taking good care of the newly clipped ends. Be sure to use sharp shears made for hair cutting, or get a professional to do it.

I finally got some good shears from Sally's, the were on sale for $69. Don't tell DH.
