Hey Ladies,

I just have to say that no combing and just leaving my NG alone is the best thing that has ever happened to me, I only comb 2x a week now, which is only 8 times a month and I'm really proud of myself. I bun everyday and I moisturize and seal everyday too but I don't touch my NG, my moisturizer is really watery so it runs down to my NG. I've been retaining much more like. At first I found it hard but I mastered the technique.:grin::grin:

How bout y'all?

When I was relaxed and stopped combing/brushing everyday I retained thickness. Now I only comb when my hair has conditioner in it or just with my fingers because it makes my life easier with texlaxed hair lol.

Yes, despite my long stretches, no combing has helped a lot. It depends, but I might not comb for as long as anything between 2 weeks and 2 months !

It definitely works for me, I only comb on wash/co-wash days when I detangle which is 1-2 times a week. Other than that I just bun and moisturize daily and leave my hair alone.

Works for ME!!! every time I comb my hair its like having a haircut, I limit combing to very rare occasions. I'm a dab hand at detangling with my fingers now and my fine hair is thanking me for it.

I combed my hair last week. It was the first time a comb has touched my head since last summer. I felt guilty doing because I kept imagining the seams ripping my hair. I use a denman because it works great and is seamless.

Does any body still care about seams? It isn't talked about much lately...

im a finger combing fool! i cant get enough of it. i only use combs to part my hair when i want straight parts. every now and then i comb with my shower comb just in case.

I haven't combed my hair in 3 months and still counting :yep:.........now before y'all start yelling at me.......I detangle after each wash twice weekly with my hands!

I take my time and am amazed at how smooth I can get my hair. I'm also able to remove shed hairs without any problems.

I only use the point of comb to make parts before braiding......I wear wigs so my hair is tucked away constantly.

I comb once a week (on washday), while my hair is still damp, using a Jilbere de Paris Shower Comb. I've been doing this for years, and it works wonderfully for me. :yep:

The ONLY time my hair gets combed is when Im detanglin, maybe once every 2 months! ( and thats only because Im in protective styles alot. and my hair is hecka thick!!! And even then my hair is always drenched in condish, and lately Ive been detangling with a wide tooth comb, and then getting the rest of the shed hairs out on my ends with my denman, that way im not drawing up unnecessary shed hairs! I like it better that way and its been working pretty well so far!! lol

Its funny, I finally found the infamous K-Cutter comb at a local BSS.

I bought it, but have no plans to comb my hair any time soon!

NO!NO!NO!
I must detangle my hair every single day or I'm just asking for disaster.

I Second that! Lunademiel
If I wait to long it seems as though I lose more hair then if I do it every other day on a gradual basis.

I detangle ~once a week and even then it's in the shower with conditioner and running water with the Jilbere shower comb

Yup. I was actually going to buy some seamless bone combs...and then I realized I could just detangle with my fingers.

No combs here. I'm trying to get myself up to once a week detangling but I'm lazy. If I go into a weave I won't have to detangle at all. But for now, I just use my fingers and I do small sections very gently. It works for me. I hated to hear the sound of the comb scraping against my hair. And it's easier for me to get knots out with my fingers.

I only detangle on wash day and I'm trying to cut that number down...
I plan on braiding up for this month so hopefully I won't see a comb until next month sometime...
I think detangling less helps me as well at protective styles and my no heat regimen. After a twist out and bun my hair for the week tangles and all...as the week goes on it gets puffy but hey, doesn't bother me!

I am up and down on this. When I am washing my hair more often, I comb it everyday in the shower. When I am not washing as much, I comb my hair when I wash it. I am past a week right now. The last time was like 3 weeks. It just depends......

:ohwell:

I only comb on wash days. Now that I am wearing protective styles I comb maybe once every other month.

I do so much better when I don't comb. My hair is natural 4bz and thick. Combing didn't make much difference.

Me too. This is a really good thing. It used to be that my hair would get really matted when I did this. But I think using better products helped with that some.

You got some purty hair, btw! :yep:

Combing less works for me. I detangle/comb every 3rd day (or about 2x/wk). My mom combs/detangles every 2 weeks.

I care! I use seamless combs too!
