I just think it would be cool to see what everyone's favorite product is now that we've rolled into the '09...If you don't mind telling us your favorite product, the one you would shoot over, the one you have no sympathy when snatching the last one off the shelf, the one you sould sleep with under your pillow so your daughter/spouse/sister/roomate/mama dem won't take it...recipes are fine too as well as any products that you modify with other ingredients! I just think that some of us could use a lil inspiration and maybe find a new alternate product....I know some of us maybe hit a hair growth plateau and maybe want something to turbo boost that healthy hair. :woot:<--I love smileys. Good details on how you use a certain product may allow some of us PJs to find other ways to use excess products instead of throwing it out. Don't be shy ladies.

Nothing Fancy for me:

*Coconut Oil (my #1 can't live without product)
*Conditioner (any kind, since I cowash fairly often)

paul mitchell moisture mist: i wish someone would try to take this from me, i dont play
ojon mist: love this just as much as my PM mist
coconut oil: do i even have to explain
vatika oil: feels so damn good on my hair and scalp with its warm and i do an oil rinse
joico: if you dont already know i cant healp you lol. the k pak is delicious
ORS replenishing pack: nothing is better than this
carols daughter hair balm: soft delicious amazing hair. i use this to seal

Mainly avocado butter and aloe butter. I haven't used grease in years and I'll never go back. I don't like super sticky greasiness that makes my hair look dull as well as greasy.

I hear great things about Carol's Daughter...I've been wanting to try it.

Oh goodness I forgot to list my "staples"....since I'm sort of new to proper hair care and being a beginner in shopping for the right products the best thing for me so far is Pure Olive Oil/with honey...I found this reicpe on www.motowngirl.com the site that turned me on to the natural hair care aspect and how much there was to learn which made me research and make my way to LHCF
Also I use ORS Replenishing Pak which by the way is in bottle form now..yay!! Gotta buy that next pay day.....
I love Kemi Oyl and Hot Six oil is pretty good too.
ORS Olive Oil Sheen is nice
Oh and last but not least my lil yogurt and egg protein conditioner that I been trying to do lately. Now I don't feel bad when I have a couple expired eggs, I just make my hair a meal. :yep:

ORS pack and Aveda Damage remedy both are extremely good deep condioners

Keracare humecto, pantene relaxed and natural, sally's megasilk moisturising conditioner, neutrogena TM mask, Joico moisuture mask all great deep moisturising conditioners.

Avocado butter, raw Shea butter, mango butter tahiti manoi (sp) aloe butter, olive butter all to make butter- keeps hair soft and moiturised

Ayurvedic stuff eg neem, shikakai, aritha, amla keeps my hair in great condition and strengthens it and henna to colour and treat.

glycerin, honeyquat and alo ver gel keeps hair moisturised when mixed with other stuff

Paul Mitchell skinny serum ( luvs it)
Aussie Moist Conditoner ( cant live, won't live without it)
Ayurveda Products (Will drive around the world for this stuff if I had no Internet)
Lustrasilk shea butter cholesterol (the best)
HE long term relationship leave in conditioner(luvs it)
Silken Child Moisturizer mixed with castor oil( I love this so much)
V05 Moisture Milks Conditioner( cant live, won't live without it)

Castor oil: I love it. It is my life partner. I could survive with water and castor oil. Helps keep the moisture in and protects my ends and makes my hair soft.

Baking soda: I don't use shampoo, just a baking soda and water mix for cleaning my hair and scalp.

Water: Daily moisturizer.

Coconut oil: Great for detangling and conditioning.

Caramel treatment: Softness and moisture.

I am a PJ:sekret: but I have some products I always stick to:

- Keracare Humecto creme conditioner: detangles and truly deep conditions, I love the way it smells and it makes my hair very soft
- ORS replenishing pak: detangles&conditions like the best
- Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla leave-in: I love the smell, and it moisturizes my hair very well, I dilute it with water
- Almond oil: my favorite oil to seal after moisturizing in the summer time
- Frederic Fekkai protein RX mask: my favorite protein conditioner, there's a great balance between moisture&protein
-Sweet almond oil: I use it on my ends to soften them

I hear great things about Carol's Daughter...I've been wanting to try it.
yea, most on this site dont like her stuff but heres what i will say.
her oils are not worth it because you can make your own for much less.
the healthy hair butter formula changed so i dont know if its still good or not but i use to swear by it.
the some of margarites magic is really good on the scalp. it thickened my hair so i would buy it again.
the black vanilla smoothie is a staple of mine, this madee my hair soooooo silky.
and my all time fave by her is the hair balm, i just love this stuff.
oh and while i wouldnt make her shampoos a staple, the tui shampoo is really moisturizing and i like it.

Thanks everyone for your inputs! I think I will try using some butters for my hair...and I've seen a couple people talking about Joico..I checked out the sight and it was a bit out of my pocket range ,but I may have to do some digging to see if a sacrifice to buy would be worth it for my 4a/4b strands. I can get my hands on Kera Care easy as they sell it in the BX salon on base up here. They got Mizani there too. I'm still trying to find out what my hair likes and not worry so much about whether the price is too high or cheap but simply if it works I don't have any pictures on yet but I am no where near neck length yet and I'm trying to be patient. Hopefully my MegaTek when shipped will do the trick.

1-Ors replenishing conditioner. No conditioner has made my hair feel like this. Ever. They besta NOT ever stop making it!

2-My protein mix. 2 whole eggs+1tbsp EVOO+handful mizani moisturfuse on dry hair as a pre poo. Strong yet soft hair. Why buy protein when I have an effective source chillin in the fridge?

3-Kenra moisturizer. Nothing beats it! I use on dry hair as a moisturizer. This is my #1 product. I also stopped sealing with this because it does not need to be sealed and the moisture is even better!!!

4-Just for me detangling spray. Works even if I have had a horrible conditioning experiene.*cough*Kenra*cough. I have been using since a child and will continue as long as they make it.

5-Nairobi relaxer-the best for my hair. Silky, strong, straight hair.

whipped shea butter + coconut, castor oil=I apply this to my edges to lay them down, this has replaced my usage of gel, can use it on the body, too.

jojoba oil=it's so versatile, a true gem, great for my scalp, hair, ends, makes them so smooth and shiny and promotes growth.

KBB's hair milk and hair nectar=I thought I could live without them....uh, nope! Some of the best creamy leave-ins, makes my curls pop and feel moisturized for days!

Trader Joe's Nourish Spa=whooo, the best conditioner under 3 bucks that I've ever purchased!!!.....I can use this alone or combined with Aubrey Organics conditioner and some oils for a great dc

Aubrey Organics HSR +GPB=100 percent all natural ingredients that yield great results (moisture and strength) for dry, thick hair........I'm in love!

Pantene Relaxed and Natural Mask=gives me super soft silky hair, I add jojoba oil to it for an extra boost

Naked Naturals Citrus Shampoo=clarifies my hair without causing severe dryness, it smells like sweet oranges and contains no SLS or parabens....c'est tres bien!

ACV Rinses with Various Herbs=great on my scalp, I do this about once a month now, when I'm plagued with the itchies this comes to my rescue and provides nice subtle, red highlights to my hair (well, only noticable in the sun, lol)

GVP Conditioning Balm :lick:, makes my hair like whoa and melts away tangles and gets this newgrowth in check. I'm on a 6 month stretch and it's super easy with this cond.

Lustrasilk Shea Butter/Mango Cholesterol :yep:, I use it as a dc on dry hair before I co-wash with GVP. Loves it, keeps my hair strong.

Coconut oil  - blingy, soft, manageable hair.

Elasta QP's Recovery Oil Moisturizer :drunk: - love this as a daily moisturizer sealed with coconut oil.

These products have cured my pj urges.

I never thought to mix the egg and EVOO! Good lookin out. I will try that. I like my new hobby, making hair concotions makes me feel like I can do something that is custom fit just for me. My shopping list is geting longer and pay day is approaching. :spinning: My hubby buys video games, I buy hair stuff...lol!

Sunsilk Hydra TLC conditioner-I use this as my leave in and seal it with castor oil. It makes my hair feel AMAZING! :yep:

Aphogee 2 min. reconstructor makes my hair feel much stronger and stops shedding without being drying.

Desert Essence Organics in Italian Red Grape. This is my first staple ever!!!!!!!! I just bought it last week and I am so in love with it. It is vegan and it is like the only natural conditioner that gives my hair immediate slip. I'm sitting under a dryer right now with it my hair mixed with olive oil, honey and SAA. My husband suggested I try it as a DC :lachen: I'll post results after I wash. It smells soo delicious, but if you don't like grapey smells, I think it may bug you for a bit. The smell doesn't linger too long but when you are in the shower you may think you are bathing in Welches. My other staple is shea butter. I love love love it.

1. Qhemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream - EXCELLENT moisturizer; there's no need for me to moisturize for days after I've used this

2. Adding extra virgin olive oil and honey to my deep conditioners helps preserve softness and keeps me hair moist

3. My daily spritz mixture of water, conditioner, extra virgin olive oil, and glycerin. Locks in the moisture, adds shine, and keeps the hair happy

4. Castor oil - This is an excellent sealant after I've moisturized and it helps my ends stay untangled. I have much less tangling and breakage at the ends after I've moisturized and sealed with castor oil.
