Any heat users ever try H2 Ion?

I know, that's exactly what I would use on top, Sabino:yep: I was gonna use the H2 alone and just go by how my hair "feels" but I have learned when it comes to heat damage you cannot go by feeling. Hair could feel awesome and be as fried as an egg.

I probably won't get the samples until next week because of the holidays but I will certainly post my review when I get it. I have just been through too many heat protectants that didn't work. I am so glad I found sabino but I would like a little more moisture as well.

Agreed......

You are very welcome SJ:drunk: Yeah isn't that crazy. I can't see that being good for the hair with a flat iron. Then I thought maybe they don't put a lot of the oils in the mixture but still I would rather stay safe.

Yeah I'm kinda scared to try it alone without a heavier silicone for protection but then I wonder if I'm cutting the effectiveness of the product in half by using it with other products. Well it says it's a heat protectant so I will try it the first time by itself and see how I like it. Yes, if you do try it alone can't wait to hear your report:yep:

I wonder the same thing!

Hey Ladies,

I still haven't received my samples so I called H2 Ion to cancel the automatic shipment program-thingy and they did with no problem. I can't have them send me the full size one if I haven't even tried the samples. She said I should get them shortly and that I could re-enroll in the program to get the discount if i liked my samples.

I also asked the lady if it mattered how hi the heat was for it to work (I like to blow dry on low heat) and she said no as long as there is some type of heat. Also I explained to her that I was nervous about using it without an additional heat protectant and she assured me that it could NOT damage the hair. Now I thought heat could cause damage in other ways besides robbing the hair of moisture...IDK I shall see.:drunk:

Hi All,

This is Katy from H2-Ion. I wanted to answer some of the questions in this thread. H2-Ion is a unique formula that uses the heat from your hair dryer to activate its strengthening conditioner. The result? H2-Ion’s revitalizing conditioner is sealed into your hair follicles, forming a barrier that prevents harmful substances from getting in. H2-Ion is a damaged hair repair program that provides long-term solutions to split-ends and frizzy hair.

Because $60 does seem like a lot for our product, we offer a free trial of H2-Ion (you pay for shipping). Women with long hair will get one or two uses. If you like it, do nothing and we will ship you a full size bottle for $47.95, 20% off. If you don't love it, call and cancel. The full details are here: http://www.h2-ion.com/order_shipping.html

I am also happy to offer you a coupon for $20 off - use our regular order page, http://www.h2-ion.com/order.html , and enter 20offlonghair in the Coupon Code box under your credit card information.

On a personal note: my roommate has curly hair and goes to the beach a lot. Because of the salt and sun, his ends were like Brillo. He loves H2 Ion and is always pestering me to bring home samples.

Here are the H2-Ion ingredients:
Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Amodimethicone, Cetyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Stearalkonium Chloride, Dimethicone, Behenyl Trimonium Methosulfate, Amodimethicone, Shea Butter, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Cetrimonium Chloride, Algae Extract, Tetrasodium EDTA, Rosemary Extract, Witch Hazel Extract, Hydroxypropyl Guar, Jojoba Esters, DMDM Hydantoin, Citric Acid, Fragrance. Contains MIM (Moisture Infusing Microbeads).

If you have any questions, or I may assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to email me.

Best,

Katy

.............

Yeah I know I wasn't expecting that. This just goes to show that companies do watch the boards. Thanks for the coupon Katy!

I have tried this and I'm not gonna lie it did make my ends feel awesome. I am on a personal no heat challenge and it will probably be a while before I pick up my blow dryer again but I may take advantage of this coupon and put it up until I decide to straighten again.

ETA: Well actually I do see their add on the site so I guess they are a sponsor of the site...

Muse, I was thinking about you the other day and wondering if you tried and liked it. I'm glad to hear you did!

DANG... Is Clariol, and Procter and Gamble on the boards too?

I am still on the fence. I don't want to join any program.....

Foxy - I am still taking your advice! Thanks a bunch!

Yeah I forgot to post my review because I got caught up in this whole Joico business:grin:

I went ahead and tried it without anything else and my hair really did feel hydrated. Next time I will pair it with Sabino and I will be good to go! I am going to order the bottle so I can take advantage of the deal.

I don't mind trying it... I just don't like "suck you in" deals... Ya know????

Yeah I hear ya I can't stand those either. It was VERY easy to cancel just a phone call no questions asked and nothing was charged/sent to me after that. You could always take advantage of the coupon (although $40 is still a bit steep). I don't know their return policy though.

BTW, I wish more companies would come in here and offer discounts!

Yea....
That is my reservation.

I bought it and I didn't like it. After I blowdryed my hair, it felt like it had build-up on it. a wax like feeling. I almost wanted to wash my hair again... :wallbash:

I guess you can also see this "build-up" as the hair being protected, but I just didn't like the weight and feel on my fine strands...
I am going to try the product on my sister, who has a much thicker grade of hair than I do, and see if she likes it.

I paid too much not to give it at least one more try but my first impression is not good.

I bought it from http://www.aveyou.com/h2ion.aspx
$1 shipping.

I would order a sample first, from the official website, to make sure you like it. hth.

Did you use more than the recommended amount?

Thanks for your review.

Sorry to hear about that. I use more than the recommended amount and had no problems with buildup.

It is also 60 bucks for very common conditioning ingredients....

True.

Muse, I may have to give this a try without putting Chi Silk Infusion on top. I"m scarrrred though!

Thanks for your review.
I put a nickle size amount in the palm of my hand and then applied to my hair. I do have a tendency to be heavy handed with products, but I think that in this case it just wasn't compatible with my hair. My hair is in recovery but still very damaged (i.e. porous, over processed, etc...) so that could have played a part... i dunno.

So I ordered the sample trial size which was supposed to cost me only $4.95 for shipping and handling. Well....last night I came home and found a package with a FULL-SIZED bottle of H2-Ion along with an invoice for $59.95 plus $7.95 s/h.:perplexed

Needless to say I was livid. I called the customer service number and they said they could only help me with orders - I had to call back in the morning. I sent 2 not-so-nice emails, one to the email on the invoice and one to Katy. The next morning I also called. The person who answered the phone was actually responding to my email when I called. He apologized for the error and told me I would be fully refunded with no further obligation. He also said to keep the full-sized bottle for my inconvenience. Katy also called me and apologized for the mistake. I was very happy and promised that I would post after I tried the product. Well, I tried it today and........

I am surprisingly pleased! I rollerset my hair first and used Keratase Thermique Nectar and sealed with the H2-Ion. After I took out my rollers, instead of blowdrying I just proceeded to part and flat iron. I added some more H2-ion to my hair first, concentrating on the ends. So far I am happy. It will be nice to see if this product does the most important thing which, to me, is protect from heat damage AND lock in moisture. That remains to be seen. Until then I am happy with the results. See pic below:

Woa free bottle! I guess this is why SJ is leary about getting on their auto ship program.

Foxy, I was actually thinking about using Sabino on top of the H2 Ion for extra protection. We can't take any chances! lol
