The only new thing I started using this month is Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose conditioner and that conditioner is a definite HIT for me. I have a couple of other hair stuff but my hair is in braids now and so I can't rate them yet so they may have to wait for next month's hit & miss thread:yep:.

So far no misses for me either.

Really? You think Lustrasilk is as good as Aveda DR? I love, love DR but would love to find something a lot cheaper. Are the ingredients as good??

HIT Hair One Olive Oil Cleansing Cream. Big Hit (but still wanting to try WEN)

Continued HIT Redken Real Control Shampoo & Condition. I'm 18 weeks post and it handles my new growth lovely.

MISS Silicon Mix conditioner--a greasy non moisturizing mess.

I think that the Lustrasilk is more moisturizing and the Aveda DR is a protein conditioner for strengthening and re-building, so they have two different purposes. I have that Hair One Olive oil cleansing conditioner too and I must admit - Big hit for me too - BIG!!! And yeah I lovvvvve my WEN cleansing conditioners too:grin:. I know I ain't no big hep ta you right now:nono:. Sorry:sad:.

hits:
SHESCENTIT banana brulee
ION keratin rebuilder.....

i didnt care for the ion a long time ago, but now that i have a better protein balance in general...this product worked great now. the banana brulee is awesome!..its not as heavy as hairvedas strinilah. Its a great dc!...ahhhh too many choices

Miss:

-HairVeda Whipped Cream...on WET hair. Hair started shedding A LOT...was using this as a leave-in to rollerset and noticed extreme shedding...couldnt figure out what it was for a while...works much better on my DRY hair.

I also tried it on wet hair and I think this is what definitely made my hair start shedding a lot. :wallbash:

Hits- qhemet amla cream, hibiscus and marshmallow root rinse

Miss- Bentonite clay ( At first my hair was so soft, then after about 2 hours my hair dried out and my scalp turned white. I had some hair fall not drastic but enough for me. My hits helped me correct this.

HITS:
Keeping my regimen extremely simple

Clairol Natural Instincts in Nutmeg (continued hit)

Hot 6 Oil

Thermal brush and my age old non ionic hair dryer

$20 ceramic flat iron from BSS (I think the brand is Hot and Hotter)

Drying hair down under hooded dryer and not roller setting

I got my hair cut into a shoulder length bob for my birthday last month and I have been trying to adjust and adapt to the new length. So last night I stopped by wally world and picked up some Hot 6 oil and decided to give it a whirl since the stylist who cut my hair only used oil on my hair and it was beautiful. So after cleansing and conditioning my hair, I put a couple of tsps of the oil in my hair and sat under the dryer until I was about 80% dry, put on my stay on bonnet and went to bed.

When I got up this morning I decided to blow out my hair some before flat ironing, put I do not know where I packed up my dryer with the comb attachment, I hit my stash and found a brand new thermal brush that I bought from sally's years ago (yes I am a pj ) still had the tag on it and was like what the hay, I will give it a try. OMG my hair came out so silky.

Then I used my cheapo flat iron I purchased from the bss, another epiphany here, I turned the heat up, I was using it a very low setting. My flat ironing was almost effortless. And my hair is so shiny and full of bounce I can hardly stop looking at it and touching.

This is definitely going to be my weekly regimen.

Hits: NTM Deep Recovery Hair Mask (DC on dry hair, no heat, overnight :lick:)

Hairveda Shea Aloe Mousse (sp?) (made my braidout so moist)

Roux Porosity Control Shampoo and Conditioner (SLIP :yep:)

Hollywood Beauty Castor Oil (make my NG so soft)

Trying to find my miss :wallbash:! My hair is shedding.

Hit: LustraSilk Shea Butter Cholesterol with Mango
Just DCed with it again and air dried... I love the way my hair looks and feels:yep:

 Oh my! This was one of this month's hits for me!

Which color did you use? Did you shampoo after you applied it pursuant to the bottle's instructions? I noticed with the Adore, it tells you to shampoo it out, unlike the other ones which simply state to rinse.

:blush::blush:Ops! I just reread the instructions and it sure nuff says your supposed to shampoo it afterwards. My bad:perplexed, I may have to try it again. I used #58 in Cinnamon, I don't know how I completely missed that one:rolleyes:. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll have try it again at a later time, I may even have to retract my statement. I only rinsed it out and put conditioner in my hair and then rinsed and went on with my life.

Big miss: Hairveda Whipped Cream. Hate it. No moisture, just coated waxy hair. I do love the smell tho.

Hit: Hairveda Green Tea butter-I like the smell. and it leaves my hair soft. Love it on damp ends.
Hairveda Almond Glaze- Really makes my hair soft and shiny

On the fence-Hairveda Sitirnillah-I think it leaves my hair soft cause after I pre poo with it, it feels really nice, but I need to use it more to really determine if its good or not. I am going to use this on dry hair as a co wash and see what happens.

MISS:
I am glad I am not the only one who felt this way about the product. Way overrated IMO.

Organix Shampoo

Hit:

Bee Mine Hair serum. I love the smell and the consistency. Haven't been using it long enough to see some results.

Organix coconut milk shampoo. This is so thick and creamy and leaves my hair so soft.

HS 14 en 1

Hit: DC on dry hair by applying evoo first, then Dove intense conditioner, and then shower cap.

I've been lazy and neglecting my hair, but this always brings it back. I'm doing it right now.

HIT: Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment
Relaxed & Natural shampoo and conditioner by Pantene
Miss: none yet..

Hit: Sweet Almond Oil...very light and in combination with Giovanni Direct left my hair feeling smooth and soft all day. I've finally learned that the key is to not be heavy handed, tempting though it may be. If I was a little further along in my hair journey my hair would have been swinging today from this combination!

I will not be purchasing anymore Elasta QP Oil Recovery Moisturizer.....it doesn't really moisturize for me.

Going back to my beloved ORS Olive Oil Lotion!!!
Really? I love this stuff!! The Olive Oil lotion by ORS was getting too thick for me, so I had to end up giving it to my mom. She really likes it.

Hits: Sally's GVP conditioning balm

Miss: Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1
I really don't care for this either. I'm going to give it a few more tries, and if I still don't like it, I'll set it off to the side with all of the other stuff I'm giving away.

I'm still waiting to try the conditioning balm. I've heard really good reviews about it.

Miss: Lottabody setting lotion :nono::nono:
I'm really starting to not like this stuff anymore. I used it the other day and I had white flakes that looked like dandruff. I'll probably end up giving it away.

HIt : Sallys GVP K-pak reconstructor it mad my hair feel really strong w/o drying it out.
I like this too so far. I can't really call it a hit yet, but so far so good....

So far. . .

Hits
Keracare Humecto Creme Conditioner. I think I'm in love.

Hawaiian Silky Lye Relaxer. I tried other relaxers, but so far, this is the one I keep coming back to because I don't get burnt.

Sponge Color/Relaxer Applicators by Goody (part of their Mosaic Collection). Used them to retouch my roots. Works better for me then brush or my fingers. And it doesn't scratch my scalp.

Misses
Regular strength relaxer. I've been scared to upgrade to Coarse, but honestly, regular just ain't cutting it. My Kinky Mega-4B just ends up underprocessed and I end up having to overlap.
Sulfur 8. My scalp still itched and the smell is really overpowering.

Not Sure
Garlic pills. I've been taking them for about a month and I'm still shedding. But that could be due to me stretching for 12 weeks.
Neutrogena T/Gel. Not sure it's helping to itching and smelling like a coal mine is a very strange experience.

Where can these color/relaxer applicators be found?

Mega HIT: Victoria Secrets Leave In Detangler

This stuff is awesome!! I did a lazy ponytail rollerset last night and all I used was this and some water and my curls turned out so soft!! I could tell it was going to work good cause as I was rolling my hair, it was really smooth feeling. I sprayed a little on my new growth this morning to smooth it down and it works wonders on dry hair too.

Other Hits: Victoria Secrets shampoo and conditioner..the smell is nice and lingers well into the next day.

Big miss - that milky reconstructor that comes with in the Phyto relaxers. I never used it after relaxing and had quite a few tubes hanging around. I ran out of AO GPB and thought this would be what my hair needed.

Result was tangly hair that was semi corrected with a moist. condish. My hair still doesn't feel normal yet. I'm throwing out the rest of them.

HIT:
Aussie Moist DCed with this and can I say MOIST! my hair felt sooo good I love it.
LTR Leave in Love it, smells like Ego Boost hopefully it does the same job if not better.
Garnier Fructis Fortifying cream conditioner Moisture Works used this on my sons hair after washing their hair with that very drying Selenium Sulfide shampoo and it brung their softness and moisture back instantly.

Nexxs Therappee- Diluting this with an indian oil mix and water, the best shampoo ever. It's like a 2 in 1 of oil rinsing and shampooing.

HIT

Silk Elements Lye Relaxer Mild
SE Leave in moisturizing Creme
SE Hair Mayo
Aphogee 2 min Keratin Reconstructor

Hits: HE LTR for daily moisturization
Jojoba oil or JCNS for sealing
Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol Moisturizing Treament (lurve it, lurve
it!)
Damp to dry flat ironing (using Remington Wet2Straight Flat Iron)

Miss: Hawaiian Silky 14in1 The only thing I can say is that it does moisturize my hair after a protein treament but it leaves my hair limp and filmy like. IDK; it just doesn't get it for me. Maybe if I wet/damp bun it would be better.

Hit: Mizani Butter Blend Rhelaxer- My first time trying a lye relaxer and I loved it:grin:. My hair is silky.

Miss: My "trim":perplexed.

This is a HIT for me too. I used it for the first for my last realxer and fell in love with it. I now have 2 favorite relaxers - Design Essentials and the Mizani BB (mild):yep:.

Guess what? When I was relaxing my hair with the Mizani BB almost 3 months ago, I had forgotten to base my scalp first, but I never experienced any burns, in fact, I finally started to feel a slight tingle in my nape area after approximately 14 or 15 minutes of it being on my hair, and by that time, time was up anyway - amazing:lick:!!!

I know probably soon I won't be able to find the Design Essentails relaxer anymore but at least I have a backup plan - Mizani Butter Blend to the rescue:grin:.
