My Hair Froze!

Okay, the funniest thing happened to me today. I ended up DC'ing over night. Well, this morning, I rinsed it out, wrapped my hair with a t-shirt (perhaps, one of the best LHCF tips I've received), and then sealed with coconut oil. My hair was still damp, and I have to admit, I love the feeling of damp hair in the wind, so I didn't bother putting on my satin cap and hat.

Well, when I was waiting for my second bus, I started fiddling with my hair. To my surprise, some strands of my hair were frozen! Basically, strands clumped together and felt hard.
:lachen::lachen:

I can laugh at it because, as far as I know, it didn't cause any damage. As soon as I got inside, my hair warmed up and was just as soft as can be. I'm just so amused because I've never had my hair freeze before.

Haha yup its that coconut.. this has happened to me plenty of times. It's kinda cool lol

Its the coconut oil. It freezes solid when its cold.

Thats why I won't use it in winter.

LOL, I should have figured. I can barely get my coconut oil out of the tube because of this Michigan winter.

I have to wonder, does it protect my hair just the same frozen?

So uh what's this t-shirt thing? Am I missing out? I have lots of old t-shirts that need to be either thrown away or put to good use.

thats why i only use my coconut oil at night now. lol it happened to me when i first discovered coconut oil.

lol :lachen:

sometimes in winter, i step outside to go to class and my hair immediately freezes into random shapes. when the wind is blowing, it sometimes freezes facing in crazy directions!

After rinsing your hair, just wrap a t-shirt around it. It soaks up the water real good without breaking your hair like a towel does.

LOL, I think I will be doing the same until summer comes again.

LOL, that's awesome. I really wish I could see that.

I see I am learning from this board. When I read "hair froze" I just knew that someone must have used oil of the coconut in cold weather.

:lachen: Where was I when people were discussing this? You should have seen how confused as I was. I was talking to me friend on the phone, and in the middle of the conversation, I yelled out, "My hair is frozen," which led to my friend :lachen: at me.
