..My hair ended up a bit damp. I ended up moisturising (skala). I literally just fingercombed the moisture through. Anyway, I had broken strands the length of my ponytail (not that many -but more than I expected to see after moisturising:rolleyes:), and a few tiny broken hairs.

Should I just have waited for my hair to fully dry? Or should I have just sealed instead? What would you have done? My hair was barely damp.

I'm sure others will chime in to help you, from my understanding hair is generally more fragile when wet so it could be that you were too rough, but at the same time i think hair that's in good condition shouldn't break from just being moisturised... i say this cos my hair has been doing the same and I think it's time for a good trim.

Do you have enough protein in your regimen? Did the breakage stop once it was dry?

@brittle_hair, thank u for responding
When I moisturise my dry ponytail, I don't really get long strands of breakage.. only little pieces -which is equally as bad..

& my hair doesn't respond too well to protein. I think I have enough in my regime.

bumping!! If Your hair got wet or damp, would you just do nothing? Moisturise?

I'm trying to figure out how it could break from me moisturising and fingercombing it through

I usually moisturize my hair when wet and I have no problems. Wet hair has to be handled carefully, so you may have accidentally broken the strands while finger combing. You might benefit from a protein treatment (even a light one )if your hair is prone to breakage.

I personally find it easier to style and moisturize my hair while damp. I am natural BTW.

It really comes down to you figuring out what works for your hair. Even with the most careful manipulation, you may find a few broken strands, so its up to you to decide wet versus dry. IF you are going to do your manipulation while wet or damp, I would suggest ALWAYS using a product that gives a little slip. Sectioning hair helps as well.

However, if you find that your hair easily breaks under those conditions, then definitely follow the procedure only on dry hair.
