My sister in law recently gave me some Silicon Mix for Christmas (b/c she knows I hate the products I have access to in CT)....I LOVE this stuff!!!!

So before I continue using it, I need to know, HAS ANYONE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS STUFF?!?!? (I hope not, because the slip is AMAZING!!!)

My hair is just SWANGING! ahem, Protective Styles will resume after vacation...

Also, for those of you with good experiences...Is it just me or does this stuff make your hair more responsive to no heat DRY styling (pincurls etc)...or is my hair just getting healthier???....I hope it's both.

Thanks

ETA: After a few months of use I can say that it seems to work better on wet hair....

I loved it the first time I used it and by the time I finished the jar, I knew it would be cemented in my PJ stash. My experience with Dominican conditioners period is that my hair retained moisture better throughout the week and even on the few times I used direct heat. My hair is shiny, soft, and bouncy.

One of my STAPLE DC's, makes my hair shine- which is one difficult task. A nice combo of moisture and protein. IA major, major slip. I don't heat style, so can't help you there.

This is one of my staples. It detangles well and smells so delicious.:lick:

I have heard other members complain about the smell being a bit overwhelming, and that it contained to many cones for there liking.

Happy you like the product OP.

OP and those who love it: What are your hair types?

I am a 4b....let's just say that without a relaxer, back in the press and curl days...I broke the teeth out of combs.... I may be a 4a however because I definitely have coils, but I believe 4b refers to them being very tight.
HTH

i HATED this conditioner. i used it several times several different ways and each time it did nothing for my hair.
with that said last night i dreamed that i bought some silicon mix rinse so maybe its a sign that that will work better for me.

This is my number one Conditioner!!! I was first introduced to this back in April or May and have been in love ever since. I am 4a/b.

why are you guess saying it smells good?
are there more than one silicon mix?
because the one i had smelled like really strong cleaning stuff, king of bleachy.

Back in the day when I used Silicon Mix, I luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuved the stuff! Always had great results with the conditioners.

Luvs it... The rip off stylist in the DR got me a jar to take with me.. (for way higher than what I should've paid..) but I love it.. so I guess it's not bad. I mixed it with HV sitrinillah... couldn't tell me nothing!!! Shiny... bouncy... perfect hair!

I too was not impressed. I didnt hate it but it wasn't worth the cones and mineral oil to me.:look: And the smell was bland, what kind do you guys have?

Smell was bland? That stuff smells like your head got doused with men's cologne. :look:

I didn't like it either. The smell gave me headaches. And the results were just OK for me. I wasn't thrilled enough to repurchase.

Funny, I just went out to buy some more. I don't use it for conditioning or moisture because of all the cones. I use it strictly for detangling. When conditioner and water don't cut it, Silicon Mix never lets me down. The only downside it the strong Dove Soap Smell. That smell lasts for days.

I'm a big fan of Silicon Mix....used it today. The smell is a little strong, but not offensive and it gives me the best slip. Definitely a staple.

I used it a few times.
The first time I used it I thought it was great.
However, I used it a few more times after that I thought it was just...OK.

I don't know what happened, but my hair just started feeling differently. I didn't get that slip that I had the very first time I used it. Maybe I'll try it again down the road.

I love it! I have been using it for about 2 years. I used it when my hair was MBL and now with ear length hair-lol and it always gave me great slip. The scent is strong but its a clean smell so I dont mind. I have it in right now-DC'ng

I bought a big ole tube of this junk because everyone was raving about it (I was a newbie) and was underwhelmed, havent used it since. I need to get ride of it so I guess I'll use it up. Maybe it will surprise me on the revisit.
