Come out of the closet

I will be trying to transition for '09. I've put it off and relaxed several times. I keep reminding myself, this is the best time in my life to explore my hair and see if I would prefer life as a natural. So I am doing that.

I am planning on wearing hair falls for most of 2009 to let my hair grow in peace.

Hey Cuz!

I don't think I am going to transition, atleast not yet, but I am down with you until April or May which will put me at 6-7 months post.

Strongly considering it. I love the texture of my ng. I'm always rubbing my itsy bitsy waves. I'll assess when I take down my weave in Dec.

I've really been thinking about it. I just relaxed yesterday after a 16 week stretch. My longest in a long while. I don't know if I will but I am leaning towards it.

I am still conflicted..I am 5 months post now, but I am not sure if I want to fully transition now or if I want to texturize to eventually tranisition to natural. My NG is at a point where it is starting to tangle, so I am not sure what to do...

I am definately hoping to transition. I'm almost 15 weeks post and it's NOT easy but I've got a Pibbs (thank u Jesus!) and a Fhi Platform. I'll fight the feeling but if times get really rough, b4 I give in to a chemical I'll just flat iron the roots. Transitioning is resolution #2 , 2nd to "CURB THAT INNER PJ!!!". How's your transition going?

I havve seriously been thinking and considering it! I am only 3 weeks post today but I keep seeing ladies transitioning and loving thier natural, low maintanance looks. I wanna see how my hair looks naturally! We shall see in 2009!

Already started. I want to go for a LOOOONNG stretch for like more than a year. I still plan on having relaxed ends at the end of '09- once I have enough natural hair to put into a bun I'll snip off the ends. I am sooooo excited to see what my natural hair is like! I haven't taken my vits in a while but I'm definitely getting back on to those cuz I want my hair to grow out as fast as possible!

I do! Transitioning is one of my new years resolution. I actually texlaxed with my last relaxer so the hair closest to my ng still has a lot of texture. I think I've learned enough from LHCF now to manage my hair better.

I am already in the start of Transitioning. My last relaxer was 12-20-08. I went to the salon yesterday and got all of my new growth blown out and all of my straggly relaxed ends chopped off. I feel and look great. I think transitioning is one of the best things that I have ever done for myself.

dude it's not going well at all. I ended up relaxing again. I was losing a lot of hair each week and that was freaking me out. It took me about four hours to just wash, condish and braid my hair back up and that was kind of insane.

So I don't know ladies. I love the though of being a natural but detangling and losing hair are keeping me from it. My relaxed hair is pretty thick and long and I was very afraid of losing that after all. So I'm just hiding my hair this year with the goal of taking better care of my relaxed hair for maximum growth.

I've been transitioning since 07, I just wanted to stop in and say CONGRATS to all on making such a big decision! You can do it!!
