I don't know if the just for me will straighten your hair because that is not what it is supposed to do. But that product is no-lye so if that is what you have been using to texturize than I would recommend using a mild no-lye relaxer to get straighter.

You are processing hair that has already been processed so you need to proceed with extreme caution. I wouldn't do this without a series of dc's before and after. I especially recommend that you do a protein dc before to keep hair strong. Sistaslick has written an article about using a protein conditioner after rinsing out the relaxer but before neutralizing as an extra measure to keep hair strong. This might be a good thing to try too.

You should be careful mixing the two. They are two different types od chemicals. One (the texturizer) is like a thiosulfate (?spelling?) and the other is another chemical and I recal reading that the two should not mix.

That is why if you absolutely had to "texture" the hair or loosen the curl, I would use (I am natural) the method alot of the ladies are using, simply using a weaker relaxer and combing it through, leaving it on for shorter periods of time. Because it is advised that you should not put a relaxer over a thiosulfate based texturizer.

What did you use to texturize? Did you use a kit or a relaxer? If we knew that info, we could hopefully give you more information.

well ive been using an Just for me to text my hair..... So i went ahead and use the no-lye perm to str8 my hair. I did an dc before and after ive perm my hair.
