I don't know. I self relaxed last night and I have a few burn patches. I don't think I left it on particularly long. I wasn't timing, but I guess everyone's experience is different. Anyone else experienced burning with phyto or is it just me?

I'm really sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with Phyto. I've been using it for years and never burned - that was the initial reason I kept using it in spite of the cost. I hope you get better soon.

sorry to hear that... that also scares me a little.. I am going to be using phyto in the next couple of days to relax my hair (for the first time ever) ::crossed fingers:: . did u base your whole scalp with anything? From what i keep hearing that helps a lot.

Well, I think it definitely has the potential to cause burns. It still contains guanidine carbonate.

I actually did not base the scalp. I thought that since so many people said that phyto doesn't burn, I didn't think that I need to base. But maybe you still do? Phyto users, do you base your whole sclap?
