I'm going to attempt this naturally... I"m in the process of taking th braids out now... so I"m going to follow the advice of the lovely ladies of this board.... wish me luck

oh and make sure somebodies here to talk me from the edge when I want to just cut it off and relax it:grin:

I'm so glad you decided against relaxing :D

So what are you gonna do with your hair tonight besides doing a flexi rod set? DLewis made a great flexi rod tutorial :yep:

OK, Another one on the journey.
I'm on here almost everyday. PM me whenever times get tough.

Oh and great googamugga, NewYorkgyrl. that siggy hair is fierce!

ok here's an update... I just got all the braids out now I'm preparing to wash... I have pics but I'll post them later...

Be encouraged. I texlaxed after over 5 years natural not because I hated it but my hair became time consuming and I did not want to cut. I would encourage everyone to spend as much time with their natural hair as possible, it's so much fun.

So things went pretty will last night...I used the aphogee shampoo and protein thingy and my hair came outi so soft and managable... well I tried the flexi roller thing.... hmmm... not so good but I think that it was my technique so I'm gonna try that another day... after that failed I decided to flat iron it thinking I'll just get it flat enough so I can wear my head wrap. i was so surprised at how straight I was able to get the new growth (all like 5 inches or so of it) At this point I'm seriously a convert.

So my next step is trying to get my ends trimmed. I'm long over due like 10 months 4 of those months of relaxed and heat torture (I decided i could do my own relaxers can we say over processed) So now I'm on the hunt for a stylist that wont butcher my hair and that understands the process of transitioning. I think that I want to do most of the process by myself but I need some one to do the occassional trims and what not. I just don't trust any of them so far. They all keep telling me (before they even get their hands in my head) that I should think about relaxing again b/c natural hair is so high maintainence. I just want to shake them and if you think that I'm letting them touch my hair with that mentality their crazy... I know I need my ends trimmed before I go back in braids (prob this weekend) but I really want to trust the next person that touches my hair.

Any advice? Help!!
