Because I'm about to become that girl who does.

My justification is that it only costs $20 and it's going to make me way less obsessed with my hair.

So who else does?

I get a wash and set every weeks because my rollersets kinda suck but i can do my own relaxers. I guess I'm kinda backwards.

I only pay $20 also but I want to limit how often I go just to save some money.

I used to go every week faithfully. But after reading Cathy Howse's Book and finding LCHF, I now wash and rollerset my hair myself.

Okay, you're one of the ones I saw admit to this

So, I thought of the whole saving money thing. But really these days, I'm so into the whole idea of delegating tasks out. I can do a krunk rollerset, but by the time I buy the products, wash it, condish it, set it, and sit under the dryer, I'm kinda pissed :ohwell: I feel like I'm trapped at home and it's more of a chore that I'll start to slack on. Also, I'll get all obsessed w/ perfecting my techniques, getting the right products, blahblahblaaaaah...

So, really, I'm be paying for peace of mind and consistency; I see it being so worth it.

Oh, and go ahead and let them do my relaxers too for an extra $20 (will do every 8weeks) and I go somewhere else for a hair trim for $20 (will do every 20weeks).

Plus it gets me out of the house and makes me spend my money on me. Sometimes you have to purposely make yourself do that :grinwink:

Sometimes I wish I could go to a salon and let someone do my hair...but I already know how it would turn out.

Naw but if I got a bomb a$$ job I would probably treat myself every week the 1st 8 weeks of my stretch. I would bring my own products to see if it makes the process cheaper. LOL, but only if I wanted str8 hair...maybe not!

I don't. Mostly because a roller set would take nearly 2 hours to dry. But where in the world are you going to get your hair done that only costs $20?

Girl, it's a Dominican Shop...and that's including tip. It really is easy money for them. And if I get there by 10:30am, I can be out by 12:30p. That's compared to the boring 4-6hrs that it would take me to do the process. :ohwell:

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a stylist that's cheaper than $35 for a wash and set. Including the $5+ tip, it's not worth it.

I go every week when I'm in ny mostly in the summer. But they do not do my relaxers I have learned my lesson with that smh they can't touch my hair with relaxer with a 10 foot pole

I got mine done today and told them I will be coming in every week now, ever since I have been pregnant, I have absolutely no desire to do my hair.

I go weekly during the first 10 weeks of my stretch. After that its "mami, you need a relaxer." So I wash and bun for the next 10 weeks (and then I go to the nail shop during the last half of my stretch so basically I'm always halfway done:look:). It's only $20 bucks and is so much more relaxing than doing it myself.

I use to go the salon every single week, like clock work. My hair would look good, but I knew it wasn't healthy; like one time the stylist did a DC for me and left me under the drier for like 10 minutes!!!! I didn't know a whole lot about hair, but I just KNEW that my hair need more than a 10 minute DC! Then, I found LHCF, and now I do my hair myself.

If I could find someone that'd do a great job for $20, I would probably budget for it every two weeks.

That's exactly what i was going to say! 20 dollars is awesome! My stylist charges 30 dollars for a wash and style... my mom goes to her every 2 weeks.

I go every week, and it costs at least $65 (wash & set) a pop (not including $10 tip). I'm natural and don't like to wear it curly, so I get it straightened. When I get treatments, trims or demi-permanent color, the price greatly increases (Kerastase salon).

I agree with you 100% i pay $25 is soooooooooooo worth it...Wash, deep condition ,rollerset and blow out my roots and off i go to start a beautiful Monday...

When i do my own hair...i cant do the roots my self and is not as nice....lets just be honest...:look::look:.....when i am broke my mom says please go to the salon please....i dont want to hear the drama JUST RUN before they close lolololol:lachen:

NYC! Wash and sets are as low as $12. That's why when I saw the title of this thread I thought "Only in NYC would I be able to get my hair done every week" :lachen:

Exactly! And, like you said, it doesn't look as good anyway. I mean, I can do a decent one, but DIY projects will just have to be my backup.

And this is really the case w/ all my beauty regimens. I know how to do a manicure, but I hate the whole nail polish remover process...and I always mess up the polish, so my nails would forever stay raggety if it was up to me. :look:

Same w/ eyebrows...it's all random and trial and error. Same w/ facial hair removal, I just can't get it right and don't stay consistent :ohwell:

So, yeah...I just go ahead and pay talented folks to help me out. I'm so excited :yay: I can't wait to see the results of being well maintained for 18months

g78: Are you relaxed??

ETA: ^^^Okay, I just saw your siggy. Lovely hair, girly. You're my inspiration now :up:
