THIS HAPPENS TO ME EVERYTIME. Just before it is time for me to relax again my scalp get sore and itchy.

I would like to know why this happens. I have no idea and I thought I was the only one.

I know what you mean about the itchy scalp. The weird thing about me is that it only gets itchy 1-2 days before my appointment to get my touch up. It gets SUPER itchy too- I swear it's psychological!

I dont know why this happens to me but it does.

Hair is always growing, relaxed or natural, but when I was natural I would not get a sore scalp.

I get sore spots from growth spurts.

Me too!! It also gets sore when it's close to touch up time as well. I thought maybe it was because I had gotten use to what it feels like to have straight hair, because I noticed the longer I stretch it stopped hurting. Could it be my scalp was now getting use to my natural texture??? hmmm.... I thought it was tender during grow spurts because of grow aids & the hair was pushing out at a rate faster than normal. I don't know, just a thought:perplexed

I get them too. And the itches right before a relaxer. Then, as soon as i sit in that chair, it goes away. I be wanting to smack my head sometimes, lol. I have no clue as to why but i know when its time to relax because my scalp gets sore.

Dang, I got that same problem but add on the headache/soreness. I haven't a clue either. Like someone else said, I think it's psychological.

Or we just all crazy:hammer:

The same thing happened to me when I was a permed head. I asked my moms and she didnt know either. Then I logically thought about it and I believe that when your applying this very strong chemical to your scalp it burns it. The pain receptors on the scalp arent that weak...like right now Im trying to hurt my scalp and all I feel is pressure...anyhow I personally believe its the hair breaking through burnt skin...I may be wrong but it only happened when I was permed. If my new growth hurt now then I woulda been proved wrong by my hypothesis
