Who here uses it? Is it worth the price? Robin makes it out to be the second coming, but she is selling it after all. If I'm going to drop that much money, I want to know it's worth it.

Does it leave your hair feeling greasy? Does it sink in well?

Reviews, please!

Thanks, JustKiya. It seems like my hair and your hair are similar, so if it isn't doing anything for you, I'm not trying to drop the money on it.

That's so sweet of you to offer to send me a sample. I don't want you to be hassled, though.

I won't promise that you'll get it in two weeks, but if you shoot me a PM of your addy, I've no problem sending you a couple of ounces.

I can't really say that it doesn't work for me - I haven't given it a fair shake, really, because it's - too wet for my reggie.

I don't detangle my hair dry, I detangle it soaked in my deep conditioner - and so I wouldn't use it then, as it's not a DC, and it costs too much to be used as a filler like I do with the cheapies.

And the GAHL Detangler is too 'moist' for me to use on my dry hair, because it makes it shrink up, and that makes the tangles worse, period, and it doesn't have enough 'slip' to overcome that.

I suppose if you had a TWA, or wore a lot of wash & go's it might work for you - but since I keep my hair stretched, it's just - not worth it. I haven't swapped/sold it though, because reggies change, and it might be right for me, at some point.

PM sent! You're a sweetheart for doing this! :rosebud:

I personally think any Giovanni Conditioner is better than that detangler. I used to love the Olive Cream Detangler from Qhemet and although it's discontinued, I hear the Burdock Root Buttercream is comparable so I'll have to try that.
I'll be testing out Hairveda's Moist Condition 24/7 soon and let you know how that goes! I haven't needed to try any others, but I'm going to because I'm a PJ!
HTH!

I never decided to take the plunge on a GALLON of anything that I am not sure about.

My problem with the product is:

a. I have most of these butters. I can make a mix, and see if it will work.

b. a friend of mine ordered products from her and NEVER got her order

c. it does not seem to have anything so special that I should send her my 50 bucks.

And that is SO WISE of you. I keep having to learn this lesson over and over again! :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :deadhorse:

I'm so sorry your friend never got her order! :nono: Robin would wake up with me in her bedroom like :brucelee: :clubu: :boxing: behind that $50! In this economy!?! She'd be :dazed::giveup:

I did not care for it. I bought a nice sized sample of it from Yodie (thanks girl!) to try and replace Qhemet's Olive Detangler.

The Detangler is too watery for me. I may try it again though, but the first time was not that impressive. Maybe it will prove to be of some use if I try it a few times.

I would not purchase a big gallon of a so-so product.

The price is not that bad if I loved the product. $50 for a gallon sized staple is decent. But for something mediocre - nah.

It's not worth the price at all. Apply, then braid your hair, then dry and start over. Make sure to do this on a full moon and hop on one foot etc.

You can find better conditioners at the bss or trade secret. And the customer service leaves much to be desired. I shouldn't have to track you down and send emails etc. for a product when you've had my money for a month. :ohwell:

I did not like it at first. But I tried it again and I really like it. I bought it earlier this year and still have a lot left. It really softens my hair and provides moisture without being too oily. I tried Jane Carter's Nourish and Shine and it was too heavy. I do not understand her instructions on the bottle so I mostly use as a leave in and use on wet or dry hair. I am texturized and it helps with my wash n goes. I really hate that someone did not receive an order because it makes me nervous to order again. HTH.

:lachen:Yea... Funny - this was like 2 or 3 years ago... and I thought - hmm... Glad it was not me.... I have known about the site since 2004... and never thought to buy her stuff... Mostly due to the GALLON size. :nono:

I use this and like it. But I would only recommend it to braiders. I only use it when taking braids out....

I liked it! The ingredients are natural and for me it absorbed right into my hair and it does a good job of moisturizing the strands. The gallons lasts a long time too!!

I've never tried GAHL detangler but Kinky Curly knot today works pretty well on dry hair. It doesnt really shrink my hair up. It works nicely on wet hair too. But my favorite for wet or damp hair is Elucence Moisture Balance conditioner. No tangles or anything when I use this. Im not really sure about your hair type but I can tell you that for me it only works on natural and textlaxed. I was relaxed for a little while and tried it and it totally sucked.

I got a sample from another member and I really liked it! The smell was nice (like oranges) and it left my natural hair moisturized and soft, without being heavy or greasy. You have to use it like the directions though, but yeah, I did like it and wanted to order it but I was too scared to drop that $50.
