HITS:
  • Cowashing at night, 3x a week
  • Redken Butter Treat, slicked on after my cowash, and then sit under the dryer for 25 minutes so it soaks in. I leave it in and count as a DC. :look:
  • Working out with a plastic cap on my head while prepooing. I do this at home or tie a scarf on if I'm going out for a run. :lachen:
  • All things Redken - Pure Pearl con, All Soft con, Heavy Cream. Whew, where have you been all my life, and you're much cheaper than Aveda!!!
  • EVOO: I literally use this for everything. From eating and cooking to hair, body and cuticles. This stuff is worth it's weight in gold.
  • Stretching 14+ weeks - my double processed hair is thick and healthy. :lick:
  • Mixing Body Shop oil with water and spritzing my roots to revive my leave in conditioner. Smells great and keeps me from overloading on conditioner.
  • Bunning - it's quck and easy and looks professional.
  • Chi Silk Infusion :lick:
MISSES:
  • Joico Moisture Recovery poo and con. Smells like Raid. HATE IT! The product is ok but I hate that smell! :wallbash:
  • Redken Real Control - the only Redken products I didn't like. These are just ok for me.:ohwell:

Hit: Hair One Olive oil cleansing Conditioner:grin:

Continued Hit : Dove Conditoner,Pantene Relaxed & Natural .

Hits: Avocado oil, amla oil and powder, shikakai powder, bentonite clay

Continued Hit: AC 1 minute wonder, HE Hello Hydration conditioner.

On the fence: Steiner Prolene Intense Protein Preatment For Damaged Hair, HE HH shampoo

Miss: EVOO. The last two times I have used this in my conditioners it left my hair hard and tangled. I don't know why my hair doesn't like this oil, but I will not be using it again.

Hit: Amla & Olive Heavy Cream. Even after my rollerset dried hard because of the EVOO, I put this on the length of my hair, and it made my curls bouncy and soft! I couldn't stop touching them! I'm anxious to see what my hair feels like in the morning though.

Hits- Everything I've tried from Hairveda:

SitriNillah Mask (I finally have a staple DC)

Almond Glaze (I can finally do braidouts, excellent shine, no more dry, crunchy airdrying results)

Green Tea Moisturizer (My new favorite butter)

Whipped Baggy Cream (Keeps my ends soooo moisturized)

Cocasta Oil and Vatika Frosting

Moist 24/7 (great for cowashing AND I can use it as a DC too)

I literally threw away a ton of my hair products today that aren't HairVeda (except my beloved Salerm leave in and a couple others) because they just can't compete- and I had to make room for my Black Friday HairVeda purchases.

On the Fence-

Redken Butter Treat (I'm going to give this another try, but it didn't wow me the first couple of times)

NTM Deep Recovery Mask (Again, not a "wower")

CHI Silk Infusion (I really want to like it, but my hair got really dry when i used it. Trying to figure out if the CHI SI was the culprit, or if it just wasn't mixing well with something else I used at the time)

Miss-

Redken Real Control Mask (I noticed no difference in my hair at all)

Yea! For once more hits than misses.

I've been experimenting with castor oil again and I like it so much better this time. I just have to make sure not to get it on my scalp and I'm good. Right now it's the only leave-in I have in my hair

Hits:
Moroccan Hail Oil
AG Fast Food Leave In
Affirm 5 in 1
Herstyler Hair Serum (w/Vit. E & Aloe Vera) - this far exceeds the dry/sticky results of Chi. Works great as a daily leave in.
Herstyler Forever Black 1.5" ceramic Flat Iron - the cheapest, most efficient flat iron I have with minimal/no damage to my hair
UBH Conditioner - It appears more watery than previous conditioner I purchased a few years ago, but it's still effective

On the Fence
Chi Silk Infusion - I'll continue to use in very small doses but IMHO, it maybe overhyped

Dito to this. It does nothing for me or DD's hair.

:yep: I had to wash my hair when I got home because I was afraid that it was going to start snapping off, it was that bad. Never again. I haven't tossed it out yet, but if no one else wants it, I'll just call it a $5 and change loss. Which is nothing compared to losing my hair.

I keep on talking about this miss, so I'll mention some of the hits.

Hits:

Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1 - This really makes my 4 a/b hair feel nice and soft. Tiffers, you're the best for telling us about this one.

Hairveda Vatika Frosting - Love it! Can't wait until my shipment of other Hairveda products get here.

Abba Pure Moisture Shampoo - I love this too, it moisturizes my hair good and I love the feeling of mint on my scalp.

more to add later.

I must give this mixture a try. My hair didn't like this conditioner alone either. All the other products from the line were hits.

Miss..........
Oil Rinses. I tried it again today for the second time. Just a no go for me.

Hit......
LongHairDontCare's tip on mixing Shikaki/conditioner/and Oil for cowashing. I did it this morning and all was good. (But that shikaki is hell to rinse to out!)

Hits:

ORS Replenishing: Slip city, smells great, strong hair!

Pincurling: Why did I just start this? Gentle on the hair and on the head--hair comes out really pretty too! Plus, if I am traveling, bobby pins take up almost no space.

Sebastian Colourshines in Brilliant Brown: Didn't want to post this one because I know how y'all do. But since I already stocked up on this discontinued gem, have at it!! My fine hair has deep color, volume, shine, smoothness and weight. It feels soooo good.
