Ok Ladies, :rosebud:

If you had to choose which one would you buy? :scratchch

To all my PJ's - Only 1!! I mean it :evilbanana:

Um :look:.....well....I will have to use both because one is a moisturizer and the other is a sealer.

Avocado butter and the coconut oil are like apples and oranges for me. Different properties and benefits and one doesn't substitute for the other in my case. It would depend on what I needed "something" for. I can use coconut oil many more ways than I can avocado butter. A year later I still haven't used up a full pound of it. Probably won't repurchase.

i can't compare the butter vs. the oil, but i can compare coconut oil vs. avocado oil. in which case i'd go coconut for warm weather, avocado for colder weather. coconut oils becomes solid at a relatively high temperature and when it does so on your hair, your hair feels stiff. so i use it less when it's cooler. otherwise, it's a great oil.

Avocado butter for my braid outs,
and coconut oil for my straight styles.

Right now just avocado butter.

I guess it depends on what you're using it for. I'm natural and my hair seems to like butters. Oils just make my hair hard unless my hair is completely dry. I've tried both and definitely avocado butter for me (I even have some in my hair right now lol). The application process is easier with butter also because you don't have to worry about it dripping everywhere.

I cant choose they are both so good especially unrefined avacado oil. sorry never used butter though. If I coukd to only pick one though...I couldn't live without VCO

I've never used avocado butter, but I absolutely love coconut oil. A lot of members here use coconut oil.

I've used both before and I say AVOCADO BUTTTER. As others have said, it's a smoother application, no dripping, and you can use it on your skin. I use mine up in a moth. The Coconut oil smells okay, but it made my face break out. But if it doesn't bother you, you could just mix up the 2 of them if you're into mixing products.

Another natural chiming in...and vco gets my vote. Ab didn't do anything for me but give me hard hair whereas butters blended with coconut oil work really well for me. Coconut oil solo is great too in my hair. I also use it straight after I shower on my skin before toweling drying..soft skin that's not greasy is the result.

i use coconut oil on my hair(relaxed) and skin and love it...
what is all in the avocado butter? can i just buy avocado and whip it myself??
would love to try both together.

Love the coconut oil. Use it on body, hair, in smoothies. I've never tried avocado butter. But I would love to. Where can I get some?

I'm finally a paying member after stalking for 2 months. I just purchased some avacado butter and I'm curious where I could buy some EVCO. Is there a good website or type of store? Thanks alot

I buy my EVCO from Walmart in the vitamin section...

I haven't tried avocado yet, but I just bought some coconut oil two weeks ago. Its very...slippery. It doesn't stay where you put it. I really have to be careful of it running down my face. But it smells DIVINE!!
I came into the thread to peep the reviews of avocado. Once I use up my mango butter I may try it.

I really tried to love the coconut oil. Like someone stated before, during these times when it's cold, coconut oil is NOT ADVISABLE.

I did an experiement and was using a leave-in, shea butter, and coconut oil on my hair. I thought I was in love until I went outside for a quick run. My hair froze. My hair happened to be a rollerset via curlformers that night. When I got back into the house, yes it did soften abit.

Last night, I co-washed and conditioned my hair. I just put it in a ponytail out of laziness, I only used my leave-in, shea butter and sealed with JBCO. This morning my hair was soft.

I'll save the coconut oil for later when the weather gets warmer. Then I'll look like a grease monkey in all the heat:lachen:
