All I want to do is drink and fuhk.
So I'm sure a lot of us were around family today that we haven't seen in awhile since we got "that" haircut or went natural or got a relaxer etc...

So what did they think???

Where you apprehensive about today?:ohwell:

I'm so happy you started this thread. I was about to start one, and then I came across yours. :yep:

No one said anything at first (I guess they were looking and trying to figure out if it was mine), and then all of sudden everyone started asking me about it and told me how nice and full it looked. When I went to visit my other family members, my 18-year-old cousin who is visiting from college was so amazed with my growth to BSL and she was like, "you have to tell me what you did to grow your hair so fast!" I was so proud to ask her to pull out laptop so I could introduce her to LHCF. EVERYONE came around the kitchen table at this point, and were "oohing" and "ahhing" at all of the longhairs on this site. I really hope she will join the site and start incorporating the tips. Her mom is 38 and she also asked me to help her get started. She said she wants to have brastrap level hair by age 40, and I told her that joining LHCF was the best place to start. :yep: :yep: :yep:

you got a good reaction:yep:

a lot of the time when people tell their loved one sbaout the site they get a lot of negativity and the family believes the women on here are wearing weaves, at least thats what my mom thinks:rolleyes: I hope they join.

I stayed in with my mom and aunt, no one came over so my hair was in a scarf all day.

that so great that your family is so open to the board

my friend was critical and said Macherieamor was mixed:rolleyes:

my mother said she found the site confusing. I don't think she is computer/internet literate enough to be on the board. But I am trying to help her with her hair

"damn,is that a wig?!?" :lachen:
My little cousin poked me slightly under my jelly roll and said "Doll, your hair is allllllllllllll they way down here!"

my brother said "damn boo boo i like your hair".
i flat ironed with my CHI last night for the first time so it was extra sleek.

They said every time they see me my hair gets longer. I was told Ill be bootylength by christmas. I was called the queen of pincurling (I had sleek, bouncy, waves) and everyone ooohhed and ahhhed. Im almost MBL ladies!!!

I saw my mom this morning she was ooohhhing and ahhhhing over my braid out. Talking about my thick hair and glowing skin.

"Oh my God your hair is sooooooo long."

"It looks like a weave."

"Is that all your hair?"

All of this while I was cleaning up the kitchen and they were laying around talking.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

They loved it. I got a lot of compliments today . I flat ironed my hair yesterday, wrapped it, and wore it straight with a pretty metal head band. It turned out nice, shiny, and moveable :yep:.

This is the first time without my weave. My hair is pretty short so everyone was suprised to see me without the weave. Everyone was supportive and said it looked nice. My mom took a picture so I will use it as my starting point. My dad didnt notice. My Mom will tell u the truth so I always value her opinion. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

Awesome ladies!

This was the first time a lot of folk saw me since I cut my hair in April and went natural! Everyone loved it and couldn't believe "my hair did that?". One cousin asked me how did I get the curls. I told her I just washed and went!

I was a little nervous today myself. My hair was waist length before so I was expecting folk to be all "why did you do that?" on me! :drunk:

GREAT replies ladies! Keep'em coming!!!

I keep LHCF a secret shhhh...They already think am wacko about hair....so I rely on you ladies to ask questions or just talk about hair...

I'm going to henna mi prima's hair next Saturday :reddance:!! She has a really short cut but is in love w/the color and thickness of my hair so I told her about ayurveda and henna. She said the color looked so natural and she wanted to try it. We're going to make it a full spa day

My mother said the usual, basically telling me to cut it. (It's flat ironed this week) This time she pulled it, hard, TWICE. The last time she snapped off some hair. :(

Then she said the ultimate, "That hair doesn't even look right on you." I love it because she normally complains about my naps. LOL!

Well I was sick. Even if I wasn't my hair would be in a bun. Which is was. Before the holdiay they were saying I need to wear it down. Im on a mission.

GOOD reactions. My grandmother scolded me on how young people are always cutting their hair, and I'm forbidden to cut it. My mom said it had so much body. My sis was like....WOW!! Not too many questions but I got a LOT of compliments!

Well I'm natural and decided I wanted to do a blow out.

My hair was freakin HUGE!!!

I got lot of compliments on it from friends....

Everything from my hair looked nice....

Is it mine?...

"I wish I could do my hair like that"....

It was cool because I thought it was a bit too big but it turned out to be great!

I had a great day ya'll!

Rocked my wig... :look: They haven't seen me or my hair since June, I believe.

"Did you cut your hair?"
..."I have to ask. That's not your hair, is it?"
"Looks cute on you!"

That was about it. LOL. :lachen: Keep it coming ladies!

Nothing really. They're pretty much used to my hair and how I care for it by now.

My sister was running her hands through my hair while I was reading the paper. And my grandmother comes out of the kitchen and she's like "Oh, you know she doesn't like anybody touching her hair" and my mother rolled her eyes and turned away. So my sister was like "Hmph, she's not gonna do nothing". I had to laugh because it actually wasn't bothering me but my grandmother obviously thought I was gonna go crazy and start a fight or something :lachen:

I got a few, "Your hair has grown" comments. However I am transitioning to natural and my sister keeps saying my hair is nappy. But hey, she'll probably make the journey one day too. Thanksgiving was great!

LOL! Grandma's...gotta love'em!

I got a lot of  and very few comments from my family. It's the first time anyone really saw my hair lately because I keep my hair wrapped in a scarf. I cut a ton of hair off around Christmas last year so people were really shocked to see it had grown so much.

I didn't see my family bc we did separate Thanksgivings but my mom met someone that is transitioning. She's funny bc she was like she's doing like you she had braids in and hasn't had a relaxer since 2007. I was like no mama I'm stretching my relaxer. She will never put another relaxer in her hair. There's a difference.

They're used to seeing my hair. They complimented me on the style (parted down the middle with bounce, shine and curl).
