Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

Oh gosh, not on a hair board, lol.

I would not sport a TWA so I would wear braids until my natural hair was at a length I felt comfortable with.

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

ITA and furthermore it's not that people "can't" go natural but some just don't "want" to for whatever reason. It is a personal choice but I'm having a hard time understanding why it's that big of a deal. It's just hair :ohwell:. I'm sure people would survive the horrors of having natural hair. They'd have no choice but to get over it :look:

You are so right. It shouldn't be a big deal. Relaxed people don't shake their head at people that don't want to be relaxed. Its a personal choice. You do you and I'll do me. I can be completely bald and i'll still have pride in myself.

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

Oh lawd here comes the ignorance. That's why people think those of us who are relaxed are self -hating. Good grade of hair...*********

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

Let me break it down for you...

Why does it matter how long I've been on this board? I've had my hair all my life so it really doesn't matter how long i've been on here.

I stated that because the statements you were making echo the feelings of some of the people who are new to the board who are unaware that those statements are ignorant. Hopefully, with time you will figure this one out.

I'm assuming ignant means ignorant.

:yep:

A good grade of hair is exactly what it says. Some people have nicer hair than others. For example alot of biracial people have a better grade of hair than people that aren't biracial.

Wow...please read what you wrote above, educate yourself. Biracial does not necessarily equate a better grade of hair :ohwell: It's all about having healthy hair. A 4z hair type can have pretty and healthier hair than someone who has 3a. It's all about how you take care of it :yep:

It doesn't take a genius to know when someone has a better grade of hair than yours. I call a big nappy fro one that you can break a comb trying to comb through it. I doubt if I went natural I would have that problem. Naturally some people's hair is more manageable than others with or without hair products. Not saying that my hair is better than anybody else's on here.

Unfortunately, the tone of your post says the opposite, especially to those who don't have a "good grade" of hair or those who have nappy hair who can break a comb :yep:

Definition of ignorant- uneducated in general; lacking knowledge or sophistication
New to LHCF or not I am very well educated.

I did not say that you are uneducated in general. A person can hold a PhD but still sound ignorant when they talk about having a good grade of hair.:nono:

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

The look of my natural hair I wouldn't mind. The maintenance of it on the other hand, whole nother story! I guess with this scenario I'd have to just get inventive with long wearing styles with the least maintenance.

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

if you want to interpret it that way...

way too much attitude in this thread....no one is judging anyone its just a question....

i never made an assumption..and im relaxed...

So I guess this is one of those undercover "If you don't like your natural hair, then you hate yourself" threads. smh

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

yep. . . i love my hair. . . but i just haven't found my anti-frizz thing yet. . . and right now, I like straight silky hair because with rollers or curlers I can get the natural/curly look. . . i am texlaxed, and it is like the best of both worlds. . . cousin said it was poofy and I cheesed. girl who put in my jacked (*& weave last night, said it was 'thick' i was just about to say thank you. . . and the ***** said 'do you straighten it?' slim gonna make me bust her in the mouth. . . [/end rant]

First off I did not say every biracial person has a better grade I said alot. You can take a person with beautifully healthy hair and a person with hair that's never been taken care of that girl with damaged hair can still have a better grade.

Please describe these grades of hair b/c I'm not familiar :) seriously

. . . another sidenote. . . are naturals turning into how white girls used to act? 'my hair is better than yours because I can just wash it and walk out the house'

I haven't heard anything like that. But on another note I can wash and leave, not because I have a good grade of hair but b/c I don't have any hair right now :lachen:

Yes, I was natural for almost 22 years of my life it wouldn't be anything shocking.

i have never heard a white broad say it either. . . but we know how they feel. I don't have a problem with naturals using a pressing comb like it is 1960 or leaving hair that looks like pubes all over the place, they shouldn't have a problem with me relaxing mine. . . shyt it is MY damn head. . . and relaxed heads CAN. . . but most DON'T. . . why? cause of the pork factor.

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

I would find another way for straight hair, but weaves and wigs would only do it for a short period of time. I think after a month or so after doing those thing will I just learn to take care of my natural hair. I don't have a choice.

Some ladies are coming off as condescending...

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

*disclaimer* anything I say in this post, is meant to be taken as a joke. . . if after this disclaimer you STILL decide you want to get upset & salty. . . that is YOUR fault. you are responsible for your own feelings about you.

yikes..girl u gotta stop. itkeeps gettin worse:lol:not helping

Re: Relaxed ladies:If relaxers werent for sale anymore and hotcombs were not availabl

Im not gonna argue my point anymore. You have your opinion I have mine. You might not use the word grade but I do. People are obviously quite sensitive about their hair. This is not serious enough for me to keep talking about. You love your hair and I'll love mine.

Wow. There is way too much ignorance in this thread.

ETA: Jokes always have a bit of truth to them. But hey, if your pubic hair is APL, more power to you!

you took it personal and that is your fault. . . do i think natural hair looks like pubes? of course not. . .we already know that I was heavily contemplating natural. . . this goes along with the heavy consensus even in OUR community that natural hair is 'nappy' or 'bad'. if I didn't like natural hair. . . it would make little sense for me to be a member of this board.
