ladies ladies ladies. let me tell you. i deep conditioned over night last night with banana brulee:lick:. my hair was so soft this morning. so i clarified with keracare 1st lather (because i wanted to apply a rinse), after that i wanted to follow up with a moisturizing shampoo so i chose chagrin valley's babassu marsh mallow. :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash: never again. my hair INSTANTLY tangled. so i quicky doused my hair in water and my hair felt like straw. the marsh mallow bar was only on my hair all of 10 seconds. so i slathered my hair in hydratherma naturals moisture boosting conditioner and sat with the dryer on HIGH for 40 minutes. if you have used this conditioner then you know my hair should have felt like butter after. but nope. straw. so then i left humectress on my hair for 3 minutes in the shower and still STRAW. i left some in as leave in along with my PM moisture mist, PM heat seal and ojon mist. i blow dried and got so fruststrated that i did something i never do.
i applied coconut oil to my hair before flat ironing. i heard that oil burns so i never use it until after im finished my hair. but my hair came out so soft and shiny and bouny and im soooooooo happy my hair is back. BUT i am either going to use that shampoo bar as soap or throw it away. i damn near cried with i felt my hair after using that. never again. and i have 3 other shampoo bar from them, im afraid to use them now:perplexed.

so ladies, the moral of the story is (comic view) coconut oil may be your answer. lol.

Did you do an acid rinse (lemon juice /ACV in water)? Soap leaves build up that can make hair dull, tangled or coarse. I'm happy that it all worked out though. :yep:

Hey, I tried that Babassu Marshmallow soap, too. I didn't like it, either. There's not much that I'm impressed with, but there are a few products that leave a negative impression on me and this was one. But they say not to judge it until you've used it several times because it takes time to work or something. I only used it twice, though.

It will do okay as a soap, though, as you suggested. After the non-cleaningness of Oyin's Grand poo bar and the too much cleaningness of this one, I gave up on shampoo bars!

i refuse to try it again lmao. im 1 1/2 inch away from bsl and havent had any major set backs and this had me crying in the shower thinking "this is it". i wanted to love that shampoo bar so much but i was dissapointed.
however i've only used the olive and babassu shampoo bar once but it was good. i will use that again.

So sorry to hear that his happened to you. Perhaps its not the product but the approach. I have used shikaki soap almost 2 years now. If this soap is like shikaki, it must be used on a oily head. Oil rinse first and then use the soap. I think your results will be different then. And you may even like it.
