I'll be 5 months post tomorrow. I don't have much hair left to BC. My hair has always been thin. I wouldn't mind chopping now, but I'll probably wait until Christmas.

I'm enjoying my journey and learning a lot about my self in the process. I almost relaxed the other day and my DH talked me out of it. So glad he did:grin:

Glad you didn't relax too! I'm enjoying this journey as well. I was on the verge of a BC or relax but I have decided to keep on keepin on!

Happy hair growing to everyone out there!

When did those really strong urges to relax (like buying a relaxer or making an appt. to get one, but then backing out) subside for you guys?

i think these subside when you stop being afraid of heat it gets easier. now im not saying to press your hair to death but if you flat iron at a medium temperature you wont have heat damage. it also helps if you do it your self. just take your time and do it right(heat protection and small pieces) and you can get relaxer like results. i always most heat damage horros stories are either from marcel hot combs, extremely hot flat irons, grease and/or a poor stylist. HTH

im almost 7 months post and now i give up on making my transition cute w/ all them styles.its too much manipulation for me because i always have to take out one of them fancy styles after a week or maybe two but i could bun forever. im going back to my tried and true buns and my old products.i have so much CRAP just sitting here i bought after reviews and at least half of them dont work on my hair.

also i have given up on wet bunning or bunning with out gel. it just dosent work for my hair type. Im trying to be realistic with my hair this time around. certain things my hair just cannot do and i'm not gonna feel bad when people say "you are just doing it wrong" I KNOW MY HAIR.

i cant wait to surpass my transition of 9.5 months. if i can pass 9.5 months with out bcing ill be straight:drunk:. i will re-evaluate at 12 months though:look:

after a year. i thought i would just relax once a year, but by my 1 year mark i was like "whats the point, its been a whole year and i can actually MANAGE my hair right now".
