But how do I put my hair in a puff. What do I use to make it stay in the center of my head? Do anyone have any pics or examples to point me in.

Thanks

I use ouchless bands. Some people use old panty hoes. I also cut one of my scarfs up in different pieces. The really thin pieces that I cut up is used for a puff. I tie it around my hair as if I am going to use it as a head band and I tighten and push my hair back and tie the scarf piece in a knot. Then I tuck away the two scarf pieces around the puff. I make sure that my hair if fluffed out the way I want it before I do all of that.

I use an ouchless band as well (looks like an oversized ponytail holder). I try to stretch it a bit then wrap it around my head twice. Most of the time I have to wrap it around my neck twice (be sure not to choke yourself since the band may be pretty tight). Then I pull it up over my hair and push it back until I have the desired look. Your head and the thickness of your hair naturally holds the band in place so it's not going anywhere once it's on your head.

I use the Ouchless hairbands. Put them over my head as one would a necklace after soaking it with S Curl so it's wet and slippery. Next I twist it at the front as I lift that X over my face to my hairline from where I start to slide it back, pulling it tighter as needed as it gets further back. By that point I have a lot of extra elastic so I lift it over my puff to provide a second circle around it. My 4b puff keeps the band it in place.

Depending on how short or slippery your hair is, you may only be able to get to the thickest part of your head before the band slides off. So if it does, just stop pushing back a little sooner so you don't get past that threshold. In this case, you may not be able to do a double band...so you make have to tie a bow with the extra elastic that you'd normally lift over the puff. Or you may want to do it the other way with the cross at the back so you can tie the extra there out of sight.

In order to make a puff, I start with an old twist-out (2 day or 3 day old). I grab a Goody Ouchless Head Band (the skinny ones), double it up and slide it over my head and onto my neck. I then pull it back up, over my head slowly, center the puff and secure the sides of the band with click-clack clips, so it won't slide up.

hth!!

What are *click-clack clips*?

For some reason I am VERY afraid of puffs. I want to wait until my hair gets a little longer to start doing them. I have to pull my hair back to tight to get it to stay into one...scary. But anyway I agree with the other ladies...check out youtube. That's how I learned how to do one:yep:

I also use the ouchless head bands. Regular ponytail holders break. I double the headband up and slide it back on my head until its behind my ears as far as I want it. THen I slick my hair down in the front and tie it down w/a scarf.

Thank CaramelDiva!!! So is yours!

Click-Clacks, lol, I don't know how else to describe them. The metal clips that you have to snap open...the middle bends in to shut, and you snap it out to open. lol, I don't know what they're called!

Straight out of the shower I fold up a scarf, tie it around my head and push back, tighten, push back tighten.

If I don't want to wear the scarf, I wait until it dries and poofs out more, then I replace the scarf with a bra strap. Really easy to tighten-and no bands that show- ALL PUFF!!!
