I'm making a conscious effort to do so. :yep:
I had one the other day and figured I'd start making them at home. Then I realized, "Hey they're good for hair!"

I had one this morning and will have one after work. I use soy protein mixed w/ ice cream and milk :lick:

I was drinking for the fruit flush I did two weeks ago. But I didnt like them. I dont want them to go to waste, I need to find some recipes.

Hair is made out of protein, so I feel its crucial to the health of your hair. I'm eating fruits and veggies, but I'm slacking on the protein.

I think im going to start doin them for breakfast too. Breakfast never keeps me full.

Me neither. What does help though is if you eat a big breakfast and stagger it. For example, I like to mix the shake as soon as I get up. I pop a straw in the cup and drink it down while I pick out my clothes and what not. After I shower and dress, I work on the fruit. When I am in the car heading out, I eat a slice of toast and sometimes some cheese. Eat like a King at Breakfast, a Prince at Lunch and a Peasant at Dinner.

Yes, I use protein powder, soy milk and fresh fruit. Never thought of the drinks providing a benefit for my hair. I just like the taste. I quess I'll drink them more often.

I used to buy the protein smoothies by Odwalla and Naked Juice but I decided to start making my own because of the price. I use the silken soy and blend it with OJ, frozen strawberries, bannana, a scoop of protein powder and a tblspoon of organic honey. Sometimes I just use vanilla soy milk and protein powder and a tablespoon of Spirulina, and strawberries. Actually a healthy meal replacement.

yep!

Quite regularly for breakfast.

Designer's Whey French Vanilla protein powder, peanut butter, honey, vanilla soy milk---or chocolate almond milk (whatever I have on hand), couple handfuls of ice--aaaaaaaaannnnd just recently started dropping an egg in there! (thanks bronze!)

Blend it up----and I'm in smoothie heaven!
yummy! :lick:

I use Whey protein powder from Trader Joe's, Flexseed oil and I mix in 1 cup of frozen mango, soy ice cream, and apple juice. Mix it in a blender and drink, it's really tasty.

I finally found one that I could stomach and man have I tried many. As of last week, I started taking Muscle Milk in the Cookies N Cream flavor (my favorite ice cream) and I'm in heaven! I was even impressed when I noticed that they have real chocolate cookie bits in the powder :lick: I'm drinking it for other health purposes but looking forward to some hair benefits as well.

I am going to try this. Sounds refreshing and healthy plus putting the flaxseed oil in the shake would take care of the daily tblspoon requirement.

I started with the protein two months ago and will let you know how it goes when I go to the hair shop on Thursday to get me a wash and conditon and a touch-up.

I was, but I started gaining weight, so I had to stop drinking them.

You have to be carefully to watch calories when you drink protein shakes. I won't drink one with more than 120 calories per scoop. I am able to lose weight drinking protein shakes everyday. And my diet (low carb or low calorie) determines what I add (ie soy milk, unsweetened almond milk, fruit, etc). Proteins like Muscle Milk will add weight but it is the best tasting powder on the market :lick:. They made Muscle Milk light for people that do not want to gain weight but the calories fat and carbs are still high.

If you buy your protein at Vitamin Shoppe you can return it no questions asked if you do not like it. I prefer their brand (Whey Tech) because you can get it on sale almost every other month. Otherwise I like Designer Whey.

:yep: I look at it like this, if you drink a cup of soda every day, that could have been one protein shake. I only drink water when I drink my protein shakes so I don't have a problem adding extra calories. I am simply getting more nutritional bang for my calories instead of wasting them.

Yes Sir!

I drink them mostly because I just like the taste. I drink optimum whey chocolate.

I also drink Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey. I like Vanilla. 120 calories, 24 grams of protein. Tastes great and keeps me full until my mid-morning mini-snack.

Funny. I'm drinking one now. I just did a search to see what would be posted . . .

I make a "green smoothie" with fresh romaine leaves, frozen mixed berries, egg white protein (two large scoops--one in vanilla and one in strawberry), wheat germ, flaxseeds, lecithin, green powder, liquid green multivitamin and agave nectar.

I meant to add that I use almond milk (vanilla flavor) as the base.
