Has anyone ever heard of Healthy Tresses, the vitamins, regimen, or book. Supposedly created by Fred somebody or another. This may come from California. A friend of mine said she saw a colleague who about 5 years ago had hair ear-length and that it is now way below bra strap. Her hair was also described as our hair, probably meaning 4b. She said goes to a salon in Cali that deals exclusively with growing hair and that all the clients have waist length hair. She said she gets a roller set and then her hair is wrapped with saran wrap and she is put back under the dryer, uses no oils or grease. Also that she only takes this Healthy Tresses which though expensive really grows the hair. I thought it was H37, but can't find anything on it. Sounds a little bit unbelievable, but this is why this board exist to prove what many thought as unbelievable "black women growing long healthy hair". Anyone?

Has anyone tried these vitamins? I did a search and this old thread came up. I'm sure I know what salon this is. I went to it yesterday. Everyone has long hair there. I was shocked. It was rare to see the short-haired lady!! My hair was about shoulder length, but I got a trim, so it's now right above shoulders and that was short in there!

The salon is in LA and they are into hair health. they're quite pricey but i guess to keep your hair on your head it's worth it. they take a LONG time. i was in there for 8 hours! they sell the healthy tresses vitamins there. the lady said they make your skin really oily so you have to drink a lot of water.

i never had a rollerset before (go figure) but i really like it. my hair is semi-natural, i'm growing out a texturizer. but right now it's full of bounce and body.

I'm bumping this old thread again. I want a lot of growth for the winter, so I'm going to head to Johnson and Guess salon (the salon I didn't mention by name above) and get these vitamins.

I spoke to the owner and she told me to try Healthy Tresses for 3 months and then switch to Provana.

I just got my hair braided by a woman who has a space in Beverly Hills right near Johnson and Guess and she told me that that's the only hair salon she recommends to her braid clients. I haven't been there in about two years, but she said whatever they suggest, I should follow because they totally transformed her daughter's hair who started from chin length and is now mid back.

Has anyone tried these?

I don't know why I was so slow to get on these, because if they produce the results I see in the salon--all of the women have AMAZING hair--then, I'll be ecstatic!

I plan on getting them next week, and I'll definitely post my results.

I sent a PM to someone else who frequents the salon, so hopefully she'll have some feedback on the vitamins.

Where exactly in LA is this salon. Your saying so many names that I'm just confused on what you're talking about.

The salon is called Johnson and Guess on Robertson and Pico in Beverly Hills. I don't have the number, but if you go to the Salon Review section, they have the number, names and more in depth info too.

I would say 95% of the women I have seen, have armpit hair at minimum. All of the stylists have bra-strap hair or longer.

They do steam treatments, use great conditioners, roller set hair and don't believe in a lot of heat. My hair thrived while there, but it's a burden on your pocketbook.

But, whenever I go back to pressing my hair, this is the ONLY place I will go. The other downside, they take a LOOOONG time. I would usually get there around 4 or 5 and wouldn't be done until 10. I just bite my lip and get a lot of reading done.

Hey you guys... I am bold, and I called the salon!!! I spoke to a male stylist and just came on out with it and asked about the supplement!!! I advised that per my friend (u guys at lhcf) this supplement is really growing out the heads of their clients.... He agreed and when I asked if there was anything else I should take, and he said no just that supplement....Any hoo he was very nice and professional, didnt mind my question at all... I think the caliber of someone answering the phone shows you how the business is run... So I may try these..
