Last night wash, con, and put in hot oil treatment and sat under dryer for 30 min. When I washed out a complete matted mess took me 3 hours to comb out and put in braids

So, what actually happened? Did you get a lot of breakage? Did you find any bald spots when you were finished?

not too much breakage, herbal essence shampoo and con, and queen helen hot oil

Doesn't seem you need any assistance since you were able to detangle and braid your hair, plus very little breakage

I don't do hot oil treatments but next time maybe detangle as you apply the oil and put your hair in at least 4 braids or twists befire going under the dryer. Did the oil have any protein in it?
