Okay, so it's getting colder outside and I am thinking about buying some of these little slouchy beanie hats.... Are they good for the hair or could they cause set backs from the rubbing all day? What about if hair is left moist underneath??

I have a couple. I have a hard time keeping them on my head. Mine are knitted, they look like the ones Beyonce/Rihanna wear all the time.

They slide right off my head all of the time. lol

But I only wear them for style, not for any other reason. Air flows right through those suckers.

That material would rip and tear at my delicate napps even when bonelaxed. Cute hat but I would wear a silky scarf underneath.

I wear them when my hair is twisted underneath and I don't feel like showing the twists if they're raggedy. I'm really not sure about moisture and friction, but I think you should be ok since it's not like you're sleeping in it and rolling around with it on your head all night.

Use a couple bobby pins horizontally to secure in place :yep: I love my snoods and berets!

wellll it depends these look like there made out of cotton do they have any made of silk or satin?????

I don't think so. They are knitted...I just bought 2 today and they are made out of acrylic! surprise, surprise. I thought they would be wool.

Thanks! I'm going to give them a try. They're so cute

Hmm...good idea. I'm thinking that maybe I could wear my satin bonnet underneath. It would be hard to see under the black one that I bought. Thanks.

I just bought some but I lined mine with satin....since it's a close knit it doesn't matter...but I'll prolly do it if I get some more open knit ones too

I have a bunch of em from asos.com http://www.asos.com/Women/Accessori...174&Rf-100=Hats&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=50&sort=-1

I wear a satin scarve on my head or a shower cap (with my hair coated underneath in conditioner) LOL and the secure the hat with a pin and go about my biznass.

I freakin love this website! I get into trouble browsing through all those lovely mass quantities of loveliness. Very affordable (cheap shipping too) and it took like a week for me to get my stuff, even though I'm in the States :yep:

This ain't a beanie, but I could definitely cover one of my afro puffs with it! :look:

I have three of these that I got off of ebay. They all have drawstrings so I can adjust the tightness so it won't fall off. Most of the time I wear a satin-like fabric underneath.

I wear one every day :yep: I wear a black one and have my wig underneath (I'm really paranoid about people seeing my part, or rather, the lack of it). Before I wore a wig, I would wear a satin cap underneath, and just align the band with the slouchy hat. I think they're adorable. I wore it for an entire winter last year with no damage.

Hi there,

Do you mind me asking what seller you purchased them from?

tia,
tishee

I started rockin these pretty much every day since the cold weather kicked in. They tend to be made from drying fabrics (wool, acrylic, etc) so I always have a silk scarf underneath them, or a headful of AO HSR and a plastic cap!

I usually put my hair in two twist, put on my satin bonnet, then top it off with the knit hat. Works every time when I don't feel like doing my hair.

I wear some like these in the summer, but they are usually lightweight material, not the wool or heavy weight yarn I'd wear in the winter

I like it because it keeps my hair off my shoulders and neck when it's humid out.
