Empress, I'm glad you found what works for you. Me, well after spend an hour pressing my hair with an electric pressing comb at 450 and still having huge frizzy hair, I'm done! No more trying to straighten my hair. And don't anyone mention Sabino, I wasted $20!

Your hair looks great. I'm super confused, in the flat iron pics, your hair looks like mine, but in your other pics it's a completely different texture.

What type of brush did you use to "chase" your hair before flatironing?

Thanks! I used a regular wooden handled, boar bristled brush. You know, the kind the guys use to lay down those waves, the brush they keep in their back pockets and whip out eleventy million times a day to brush their little bit of hair lol.

Is a Solia the one w/ the rolling brush attached? I saw this on an infomerical and was amazed that it didn't just yank out everybody's hair. If that's it, that thing will kill anybody's hair, esp. African textures.

I think that's the same for me. My hair is THICK and coiled as hell now that I cut it!

Marie....that's why I had to whip out the stove. BUT would you believe my hair was still feeling different? It's like my hair doesn't want to get straight lol. I'm wondering now if I should have gone for the chi or the sedu.

Go with the maxiglide....my hair has never felt so silky :yep:..but I usually rollerset or band it first

Okay, I went over my hair again but used it at 375, but my hair was mostly already straight, plus I had the ojon restorative in my hair. I don't know, I liked it afterwards but I'm still trying the sedu. I mean, why the heck not! Although I'm not straightening again till next year...

So I'm using it now actually, and let me say it doesn't compare to my old school ceramic iron that I put on the little stove. My hair doesn't feel nearly as smooth. Or am I just doing something wrong? I had to put it on the highest setting.

OP, I have a solia and I can only use it with certain products because I experienced what you are talking about. I have flat ironed pics in my fotki where I used the solia, if you want to see them. Overal I like it, but please dont' use it on the highest setting because that's why I ended up needing to cut my hair to shoulder length in April, its growing back now, because I only use the solia on special occassions at 350 degrees, product used: Hask flat iron solution, sold at Sally's. And I always blow dry straight first.

Dang, really?? Do you think I'd have a problem, cause that first go around I used it on the highest setting, and then the 350 the next go around. Cause at first, 350 didn't do SQUAT to my hair!
