E_Williams20........ I love your HAIR! I might have to try the Silk Elements after seeing those pics. Anyway, I chose other. I use Affirm Fiberguard or Conditioning Lye and always get wonderful results. I just bought Mizani Butter Blends for my next relaxer though...

Silk Elements Lye. It's the only thing that gets my hair to bling :ohwell:

It straightened my 5 month post new growth with ease

Girl you hair is tha BOMB!!! I also love visiting your fotki. You have impressive results in just one year. I'm happy for you that you've found what works for your hair and have retained length and health all the time.

THE PICS ARE BEAUTIFUL.

ALTER EGO LINANGE SHEA BUTTER RELAXER!

I have tried MANY relaxers... Design Essentials, Motions - normal and the herbal, Affirm, Nairobi, etc. and NOTHING is like this relaxer.

THe best way I can explain it is that afterwards, my hair doesn't feel like relaxed hair. It doesn't feel the way Nairobi or Affirm or DE makes my hair feel, which is like silky, relaxed hair. The linange makes it feel like it grew out of my scalp PERFECTLY straight and silky silky silky silky... not like I just infused it with silk, but like it was always that way. The major difference is that now, months after my relaxer, I can see the HUGE difference in my hair texture. My ends from Nairobi and DE are straighter and say, after I wash and airdry... look more artificially straight? My bit from when I was relaxed in March has too much texture and is kind of underprocessed (looks pretty, so I'm leaving it alone and I just make sure it doesn't cause breakage), but the Linange area dries straight, yet with body....

For lack of a way to put it, that section looks like the hair of someone who has naturally straight-wavy hair with body.... Like I could straighten it afterward on a 2/10 setting for 5-10 minutes and have it bling.

And now I'm pissed because the salon I MUST go to here (Boston - because they're the most economical yet know their ish, don't cut too much, and help you grow) REFUSE to take other relaxers and only use Affirm, Mizani, and Paul Mitchell. I know Affirm is great, but I may go with Mizani just to have a look-see. :look:

At least I can have my hair relaxed with Linange whenever I go home. I need to become brave enough to self-relax. I considered it for this time, but I want a trim and rinse too.

thanks ladies! :love2::love2: Sorry I took so long! I've been away for about a week.

Just wanted to say that I love your hair!:yep:

I always thought you had very pretty hair. The shine is very pronounced. Hmmm, eyeing purse and thinking about making a short trip to Sally's.

Your hair looks great! Did you use regular or mild? How long with regular?

regular :). my stylist leaves it in for 20-25mins

OT: E Williams your hair is beautiful..

Ok, I have to vote for Phytorelaxer Index II.. I self-relax and it leaves my 4a hair bone straight w/out any damage, burning or stinging....Great relaxer

I just had to tell you that you have the prettiest black hair that I have seen in a while. Your hair is a motivator...

Op, I use ORS after using PHYTO two years(liked PHYTO, I just didnt like waiting on it in the mail)...

 wow! really? It never looks black enough for me

Thanks Miamori never heard of this one. Gonna read the box as well, do they have no-lye mild?

From what I know, it's a pretty new relaxer line and is hard to find if you don't live in NYC. I know a few websites that sell it though. :drunk:

And no, from what I know, so far they just have the lye form, although now there's the same relaxer available as a cream relaxer. I want to see it what it looks like, but the normal relaxer does a good enough job for me to stick with just that for now whenever I can. Maybe the cream is easier to apply; I don't know.

Anyway, what I'm saying is that for now, I think there's just the lye.

ETA: Oooooh, I just realized I have pictures from my last relaxer. I'll post some later.

I have very fine hair and I used Mizani Butter Blend for fine/color treated hair for the 1st time this week. I have used some of best out there. I have used Phyto 1, Affirm, Design Essentials, Nairobi, and Elucence. The majority being no-lye. After seeing how my hair was starting to look and feel dry - I decided to go back to using lye and will not turn back.

Even though Mizani Butter Blend has a lot products you could use in conjunction with it, there are all not really necessary (IMO). I think it is just a marketing ploy so that the beauticians have an excuse to charge more.

I use Elucence Regular and I am pretty happy with the results, but I am tempted to try Phyto again though, Index II this time! I tried Index I and liked the fact that my hair felt strong. But It was more like a texturizer.

HAWAIIAN SILKY!! i can't sing enough praises about that relaxer. it's lye, doesn't burn at all, and leaves me perfectly processed every time (except for when i accidentally miss a spot or two). i liked it better than silk elements, because SE seemed to dry out my hair a bit, and it also burned the bejeebus out of my scalp.

i'm telling yall... HAWAIIAN SILKY lye is the TRUTH!!!

Thank you all ladies. I'm on a stretch so I won't be relaxing for another 2 months or so, depending on how long I can go. So many nice responses...how do chose. lol

:drunk::spinning:I absolutely LOVEEEEE ORS Olive Oil relaxer! I had such WONDERFUL results and it came out SOOO shiny and soft and I didn't have to add ANYTHING!!! It is SOOOO super straight, I can even attach pictures... I was so pleased:grin: I took PICS! I usually still have waves when I do my own touch ups, and this time I was about 15 weeks post... I tell ya, I think I'm going to stick w/the complete ORS line and see if I have better luck w/my hair journey!

I am a girl who hasn't really had the best results when self perming, but this was AWESOME and I highly recommend!:yep::yep:

Y'all nevermind my goofy cheesy smile, I was just amazed w/the results....:lachen:

Hi, could you please tell me how you downloaded your pictures. I can't for the heck of me download any of mine. Thanks so much in advance!

Now that is beautiful, the last one I used was the Mizani mild and it looked as though I was still stretching! Now I have to wait until my next relaxer which won't be until either end of Dec or Begin of Jan 09. Where do you purchase the Silk Elements, and one more ? what strength do you use? It looks as though we have the same hair type!

Your hair is gorgeous! I recently ordered the Alter Ego Conditioner with garlic after applying the MT and I was impressed with it! I barely had 3 strands of hair in my hands after rinsing. I think my next relaxer will be the Linange with Shea butter, I have like three types of hair on my head....on the top is a 3b, sides are maybe 4b, and the back is 4a. I know that's alot of different hair types but that's what I have. And after using the Mizani butter blends mild I was very disappointed in the results. But this one by AE sounds like it might just do the job. I will keep you posted when I apply the AE, but that won't be until late Dec 08. Thanks so much for explaining the results you get from the AE.:perplexed

ORS Olive Oil is THE BOMB, My hair is always shiny, always straight, smooth, silky, nerver burns, smells wonderful, and the shampoo, conditioner's and after treatments all work so well together...LOVE IT:grin::grin::grin::drunk::yep::spinning:

I love the ORS lye. I wish it came in a bucket.

I am interested in Relax with Leisure and the Linange one but I'm just too happy right now with ORS.
