What do you do with the ends of your pony. I am always at a loss what to do now that I can actually make a pony.

Do you let your ends hang down? Or do you let it air dry in a bun? Or do you do something else?

Thanks for the help!

I braid or twist tightly and pin under with a bobby-pin before tying down with a silk or satin scarf. If am going to straighten (rare) I band...

I am yet to airdry in a pony tail, but I have air dried twists in pig tails. :p I just let them hang. When wearing twists, I always style my hair when they are wet because I prefer the weight of the water to help "set" the style, in this case, I wanted the twists to point downward when in the pigtails, hence the reason I "drip-dried". Even when wearing my twists down, I wet them and let them dry hanging down so they aren't twisting any which way.

Me too. When I am done washing, I moisturize then put my hair in two braids or twists. Wrap them up and tie my hair down. It make a beautiful braid/ twist out bun in the morning. And your hair lays down flat. I have been doing that for the last couple of weeks. Its very low maintenance in the morning, yet it still looks very nice and put together.

I either dry in a bun or leave my ends hanging. I use a satin scrunchie to hold my ponytail and when I bun it, I use a regular ole elastic hair tie...

HTH!

I apply profective healthy ends to my ends and just leave it out to dry, afterwards I flatiron and apply mango butter as a moisturizer

Thanks for answering. Do you use a scrunchy or hair band or just pins? TIA!

I use a hair band for the pony, and hair pins to pin it up. I usually can't get my hair in a ponytail if it's not wet, so I always wet bun it, apply aloe vera gel, and put on a scarf to tie it down.

Here's a pic. My hair was still wet.

I co washed this morning, but curl activator in , sealed with coconut oil, put two pony tails in and a curler on the end of each pony tail.

worked ok- ended up with a wavy bob - (im CBL)

I mix LTR with evoo and pull hair back into a scrunchie. Then I get a huge magnetic roller and flip the ends up. Then I tie the top down with a scarf. After it is almost dry, I take the scrunchie and roller out and comb straight and divise the ends into three parts and re roll without the scrunchie all the way up to my head.

I'm texlaxed and I put in some leave-in (Giovanni Direct), some Aveda Be Curly on the pony ends, and some coconut oil on the whole thing. When it dries I have this:

I braid or twist my ends. If I want to get fancy I release the braid or twist.:yep:

After my hair is dry I usually remove the pony tail holder and tuck the braid.

I airdry in one or two ponytails and coat the ends in castor oil while wet (after adding my leave ins). Then I two-strand twist it and pin it up.

Any photos of a wet bun?

Here are mine from earlier today. This is how I have been wearing my hair every day since October 2007. I'm Currently 11 months post.
I alternate between a low or high bun.
After I co-wash I moisturize with any butter hempseed/aloe/shea/cocoa,
seal with coconut oil and use a little gel to keep the frizz down (the front only).
I brush it back with a boar bristle brush and use a scrunchie to bun it up.
I know my edges look thin, but that is just the way my hairline has always been. The bun looks tight but it isn't, I make sure I don't pull or bun my hair up too tight.

I twist the ponytail tightly into a bun and pin it. Then I just put a few scarves over it and go to bed.

That is my favorite way to air dry- the scarf really smooths it out.

Good idea with the castor oil! That probably really help your ends retain their moisture.

I love your buns!

I use a satin scrunchie for the ponytail itself. Then I take an end paper and wrap the part hanging out on a huge roller. Next I tie a scarf on to lay the edges down. After it is about 80% dry, I remove the scrunchie and use 4 rollers to re-roll the hair up in a flip type fashion and let it finish drying. I end up with a loose flip.

Thats How my hair looks exactly when I airdry with a bun but my only thing different is my hair is a little straighter because Im relaxed:yep:
