Last night I went out for my bday for Sushi and a movie. I was gone for a total of maybe 5 hours.

Here is my hair (4a/b ish, natural) before I left the house:

I purposely only lighly fingercombed because I just knew what was in store later...

Here is my hair while I was out and when I came home:

I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun and have just come to accept that my hair will never stay straight. :ohwell: I was so embarrased yesterday because I looked like I had a big wig on:lachen:

I am soooooo sorry, but the evolution of the looks on your face is PRICELESS!!!

 :dead:

ETA: Now that I've stopped cracking up @ your facial evolution, it doesn't look that bad. That's how my first wash n go looked when I tried it :yep: I'm sure it will look even better next time :)

Yes and it did nothing for me at all :perplexed

it just may be too humid out where you are to keep a good press. not to worry tho since your hair still looks nice :grouphug3:

Your face: "Yes - give me a reason to cut you! Say something else! PLEASE say something else!"

:lachen:

The only reason I can laugh freely is because there is this computer keeping me safe from you! That look you have scares me! You are not the one to mess with!

Seriously though, you have beautiful, touchable, and squeezable hair! Your waves and curls just wanna be free and they acted out!

I understand COMPLETELY.

A lil over a month ago I had exactly the same thing happen, except it only took 4 hours.

Have you tried a ceramic hot comb. I find it works a bit better for pressing natural hair than a flat iron. I found it at Wal-Mart.

omg you look like you might cut somebody :lachen:
:bighug:
It was probably about 2am when I took that pic and i was tyred AND mad :lachen: I walked around with my hair like that all night :nono:

:catfight: :lachen::lachen: Thank you for the compliment :yep:

You feel me?? :yep:

:lachen: :lachen: I'm sorry I have to laugh but your facial expression says it all. I totally understand because this has been my experience, so I can't give you any advice. :ohwell:

 at your facial expression in the last picture!

I finally found a product that keeps my natural hair straight while I'm out and about... Proclaim Emerald Bergamot grease!

Take comfort in knowing you are not the only one dealing with the poof. Mine is like that sometimes before I even leave the house. We have high humidity days here in Michigan and my hair goes on strike. I feel like mine is telling me if I don't want to use chemical to stop trying to make it do something it doesn't want to do. It is strange that some can flat iron and get a great result and others never can.

LOL, I have definitely had that look on my face before. Straightening natural hair in the summer is a no-no for me....ish gets bushy at the first sign of humidity.

P. S. Happy Belated B'Day!!!

In am soooo sorry Bre-Bre!!! I'm glad you and the other ladies can laugh because I was just ticked off for you because your birthday hair was really BEAUTIFUL:yep:, so thick and lush and curly. Hope you still had a happy birthday sweetie :cake::flowers::birthday2

OK, I have one more thing for you to try...

I cowashed with conditioner and salt (Kiyafizzle). Rinsed, detangled, then sectioned. I applied a quarter sized amount of Sunsilk straighten up conditioner to each section, then blowdried it on warm. Then I flat ironed it, rubbed some Aveda anti-humectant on it (which never works for me), and hoped for the best.

I went to a bridal luncheon yesterday that was outside, then to a barbecue that was outside, and my hair DID NOT REVERT! I'm telling you it was smooth and silky and blowing in the wind.

I'll be uploading pics in a bit, and I'll show you. I think I've found a winner.:yep::yep::yep::yep:
