Have you let a professional try to straighten your hair?

yea i was going to suggest the same thing. go to a professional to straighten your hair next time. when i go to the salon my hair does not revert back to natural curls until i wash it

SO IRONIC my no heat no sweets challenge ended on July 20th my birthday so i decided to straigten my hair, and it was a disaster. i couldn't even get my hair straight, I don't like that i have to go the salon.

:lachen::lachen::lachen:Gurl you got looks that could kill literally!! I would NOT mess with you if that's how you look when u're mad. You look like u could take me out!! Your hair is kute to me!! I love it! The after effect is how MY hair looks sometimes (I'm RELAXED) because humidity in Mississippi is something serious LOOOOL. Nevertheless you looked HOTT for your bday and I'm sure you had a good time!! :yep::yep:

OK, I have one more thing for you to try...

I cowashed with conditioner and salt (Kiyafizzle). Rinsed, detangled, then sectioned. I applied a quarter sized amount of Sunsilk straighten up conditioner to each section, then blowdried it on warm. Then I flat ironed it, rubbed some Aveda anti-humectant on it (which never works for me), and hoped for the best.

I went to a bridal luncheon yesterday that was outside, then to a barbecue that was outside, and my hair DID NOT REVERT! I'm telling you it was smooth and silky and blowing in the wind.

I'll be uploading pics in a bit, and I'll show you. I think I've found a winner.:yep::yep::yep::yep:
I look forward to the pics:grin:

:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

I don't appreciate you laughing at me :nono::lachen::lachen::lachen:

If I knew that I could go to a salon and not have to cut someone I might consider it.

Happy Belated bday. Maybe our hair needs to be 'trained' :nono:

I totally understand your dilemma and my hair is still in TWA stage.
Be comforted, you are not alone and your hair looks good anyway

I know how you feel....at least you got out of the house with your hair looking good...when I attempted to flatiron the other day my hair started reverting as soon as I removed the flatiron off of my strands. :rolleyes: :wallbash:

Last night I went out for my bday for Sushi and a movie. I was gone for a total of maybe 5 hours.

I purposely only lighly fingercombed because I just knew what was in store later...

Here is my hair while I was out and when I came home:

I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun and have just come to accept that my hair will never stay straight. :ohwell: I was so embarrased yesterday because I looked like I had a big wig on:lachen:

Your hair is beautiful!!!! What the hellz you complaining about?
I could only WISH!

well, looks like you had fun!

sweated that press right on out! :lachen:

It was pretty though...I love the "bigness" of your hair.

:lachen: aw man, I'm sorry. well, you see me in my siggy.

i tell you for me the only thing that's really gotten my hair straight is a pressing comb. A hot metal comb put on fire. it gets run through the hair not on top of it like a flat iron. You could try that, just press it against a paper towel before you get ready to use it and if the bubbles on the paper towel don't go down it's not hot enough. If it burns the paper towel a dark brown, it's too hot. If the bubbles go down and there is a really faint browning of the paper, that's the right amount of heat. At least for my hair. I kept a press without reversion in so. cal. A flat iron is like a joke to my hair, I couldn't even get it as straight as you got it in your first picture.

but anyway, happy birthday! :birthday2 Hope the sushi was good.

Girl those facial expression made me spit my water out!!!! I am sorry, I know it's not funny. But the expressions!!

I was hot :lachen:

GASP!! Did you get that much growth in just 2 months???

well, looks like you had fun!

sweated that press right on out! :lachen:

Uhhhh, errumah, I didn't sweat at all :nono: :lachen:

I am so sorry that happened to you on you special night. Your hair is still gorgeous to me.

Yup, she looks PISSED!! :lachen::lachen::lachen:
Alright Brooklyn :catfight: :lachen::lachen:

Well, I guess if I EVER come on the board touting something as a miracle cream for poof and reversion we had all better buy stock in the company :yep:

I may have to give the comb a try, it's definitely something to consider. My mom prolly still got them pressing skills....

Yes, the sushi was great!! Thanks :)

Man I so predicted what ur face was going to look like in the last pic :rofl: Either way you have a lot of hair! sorry it didnt last. you may want to try a pressing comb or wait until the dry winter air kicks in

I'm so sorry your press didn't hold out on you, but before I even read the rest of the posts the facial transformation was enough to have me :lachen: :lachen: for a good few minutes.

I've heard that Ultrasheen's Creme Satin Press is really good for pressing and light maintenance.

My daughter's hair did the same thing on Saturday. She look like she had a hat on her head and this was after a couple of hours. YOur hair looks healthy and thick and that's a good thing. What would happen if you tried to say set it on rollers then finger comb, that might make the curls stay longer.

i keep a ponytail holder on my wrist when i straighten my hair

Happy belated birthday. I love your hair before, you did a really great job straitening your hair, it looks soft and beautiful. I actually like the big frizzy hair in the last pic for a casual day like going to the park or shopping .

My momma used to press my hair with Crisco....yeah, I said it...CRISCO! :lachen:but you know what, my hair would be soft and silky and would stay that way, even in humid weather...:grin:

girrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl, I am so trying not to laugh. I know how you feel. Girl I called myself straightening my hair for a wedding and girl literally 5 minutes later I had an afro. Girl there is nothing wrong with your hair looking like a wig :yep:.

Whoa that is a huge difference. Your hair looked fab. prior to leaving home. I'd be pissed too. I co-washed and blow dried my hair before work the other day, tied it down it looked decent. About 1 hour after arriving at work, my hair had grown, it was big, wide and frizzy. My manager was in a meeting, so I went home and quickly flat ironed my hair!

Try the comb, and if you are looking for new products to try Mizani Thermasmooth works really well. There are four products total in the thermasmooth line. The It's kinda expensive, but it works. It helps with straightening and the press will last.

Happy birthday!
