While I was doing my nightly oiling and scalp massaging, I decided to measure my hair again. I did it about three weeks ago (avatar pic). I took another picture of this measurement and noticed that it grew a bit. Then I said to myself "hey is this APL?" Please tell me that it is, I will be SO happy!! Ok, I want you to be straight with me if it's not; don't just tell me it is just to make me happy. I figured I would ask you pros.
In the picture, the top/index finger is my collarbone and the bottom/thumb is the end of my hair. I had to hold it like that because it kept slipping. It was still wet/oily from the shower and oiling and as you can see I have MAJOR shrinkage!! My hair doesn't like to be stretched which is why I can never really hold a straight style....

Here is the pic, hope it comes out....

I need to see your hair dry and stretched as opposed to wet...

Ok, I'm going to take more pics in a few minutes. My maxiglide is warming as I type. I did the towel thing and it seems to go down that far. Also, I can raise up my arm and pull my hair over into my arm pit. Ok, I'm take the pics and post so y'all can be the judge!!

Looks like it to me. However, some ladies are very picky about what they will take for a length verification. I mean some ladies want the hair dry, and laying flat against a light background, with a towel under your arms and a certified hair-helper to verify the in-person length. :lachen:

It has took me a long time to claim APL. I will post photos on my two year anniversary on August 31 when I plan to straighten a piece of my hair to check.

OMG, I'm going to cry!! So happy!!!:yay::thumbsup::clapping: Thank you all for the congrats. I feel the love; let's all grow together!!!
Now if my MT can just hurry up so I can thicken this stuff up and grow it out more!!!

Ok, now another question. Is BSL a realistic goal for Christmas??

I want to congratulate you!! That's great!!! :D :D :D

I also have to tell you, you look so much like my aunt it's not even funny!!! Same skintone, features, it's kind of shocking! So, um... are you Nigerian, and if so... what village are you from? (Lol!!!!)

It looks APL to me. Congrats. I hope to be there too by the end of the year. I am hiding my hair until December.

Congrats! I'm trying to go for BSL by Christmas (or the end of the year) also.

Now that's the first time I've got that!! I usually get mistaken for a Latina (the wavy hair mostly) and a lot of people can notice my Native American features. But not Nigerian-till now. But it's possible my other ancestors were!! LOL!!
But no, I'm mostly Af-Am and Native American with some cream mixed in...

Congrats!!!! Like CountryGal, I hope to be there by the end of the year too. I have this one section of hair that is APL, just teasing the rest of my hair, but it does give me hope that the rest will get there too.

Good luck on making BSL, if you keep doing what you're doing, I'm sure you won't have any troubling making BSL.
