Thread title is Set-Back sorry
Ladies...
I need your help!!! I am 4a relaxed and have been for yrs. I have to admit I have not been consistent about applying protection on the old hair when I receive my retouches. (I have applied protectant in the form of condition or Vaseline for the previous 3 RT's) These are done at the Salon. During the last RT the Stylist was rough combing my hair. I pre-condition, DC w/heat cap and roller set/hood dryer on wash days. I stretch for 12 wks at a time. Last RT 7/19/08. My hair is getting longer, longer and thinner and thinner. Last night after taking my set down, longggg strands of hair just started coming out. I only used one roller when I went to bed. I could cry!!!
I have worked so hard on improving the condition of my hair. It was so healthy at one time. I need some guidance.

this is a good decision! you wont regret it , just take your time learning your hair and what it needs as you go and of course you have all the support and info right here whenever you need it!
) but my hair looks so much thicker, yeah...it's hard to deal with the two textures but I've gotten used to it after 1+ year. I'm not telaxed but I'm not bone straight either, I found a happy medium...
. I think this will be an easier/smoother transition but if you want to drop relaxers for good you could prob. BC after 6 mo or so, not to deal with the diff textures
.
! I am like the OP. Now it takes me 12 weeks after the Relaxer to build my hair back up to long and normal. I like relaxing. However, I might have to let it go. I was even thinking relaxing every 26 weeks or 2x per year. I just do not know!
