If you guys had to choose one, which one would be your staple? I'm trying to decide on a "staple" line that I can and will stick to.

I like Aveda Damage Remedy line. It has just the right balance of moisture and protein. I don't use the shampoo as often as I once did, but I do use the conditioner and treatment on a regular basis.

So which one do you recomend out of the conditioner and the treatment and how do you use them?

I like them both. I use the conditioner as a regular rinse out conditioner. I use the treatment as a protein treatment (leaving on my hair for 15 minutes - sometimes with heat and sometimes without heat).

See im scared of the protein build up, I have dryyyyyyyyy hair. Damage remedy won't make my hair toooo "proteinish" after a while? WHat i don't like is the dry remedy does not come in the 33 oz like damage remedy so even though you are paying a big price for the big size, the size is only 16oz. Seems like a rip off. I need to get some sample sizes and try it:yep: No votes for redken?

No votes for redken?

I voted for Redken Real Control. This stuff is simply amazing to me. I have yet to find anything that works on my new growth the same as this. I love my Kerastase to death but I use the Real Control to comb through my hair with ease.

The regular conditioner has a balance of protein and moisture and the mask is primarily moisture.

I've tried all three lines and Damage Remedy is hands down my favorite. Like Allandra posted, it has just the right combo of moisture and protein. After using the poo and regular conditioner my hair is like silk.

I haven't tried the dry remedy but I have used the damage remedy and real control.

My pick would be the damage remedy. The real control (mask) didn't do very much for my hair :ohwell:

you know i was wondering the same thing but between aveda (any line probably dry remedy though) and keracare. I just can't get with the mineral oik in the keracare my hair and mineral oil or mortal enemies or something. I thought I had chosen dry remedy but EVERYDODY loves the damage remedy...i guess ill have to go back and read up on it

I just tried the Real Control Mask last night and I like it :). I then used the creamy leave in and the thermal protectant from the same line and roller set. After my hair was dry, I noticed that my hair wasn't tangled at the ends when I was combing out the curls and that it was nice and bouncy. The shine wasn't blinging, but I just put a little coco oil on afterwards and it helped. My hair feels stronger too, as well as soft. The results are in my siggy.

(I didn't use the shampoo and con though, b/c the poo has sulfates from what I remember. Plus I'm loving my ABBA for poo and rinse-out con.)

Ok I have Dry Remedy con in my hair right now. I'm sleeping with it and in the morning I'll rinse and sit under the dryer with the mask. I didn't use a lot - the saleslady said it's very concentrated and the sample size she gave me was good for 2 uses, so I used half. My hair feels really soft right now - it's still damp. I'll post back tomorrow to say how it felt once my hair air dries, and of course after I DC with the mask and wet set my hair.

I was not impressed with Real Control poo and con. I still want to try the All Soft heavy cream - I may try RC mask as well.

I haven't tried Redken Real Control but I have tried the Damage Remedy and the Dry Remedy. My favorite is the Damage Remedy...I  this line.

So far not impressed with Dry Remedy. :nono: I left the mask in this morning. When I got home from church my hair was dry and crispy. :ohwell: I rewet it and sat under the dryer 15 min. It's dry and still doesn't feel soft. I'll rinse it out and wet set shortly. I'll wait t'il then to give my final verdict. :crossfingers:

So far Damage Remedy is still in the lead!

i cannot vote right now but i did want to say that aveda have superb customer service. i have been hearing a lot about the aveda line but had already purchased the real control. so i decided i will wait until after i finish it before trying the aveda. well after reading this poll and hearing more rave reviews i seeked out my local aveda store (Stonecrest Mall). and was really impress with the manager and the other employees. they did not just start trying to shove products in my hand. they first took the time to see what concerns i might be having with my hair (thanks to LHCF i was pleased to advise her that i pretty much had my hair care under control but is always in the market for a good conditioner). they then took the time to educate me on their products.

now what really did it for me was when i told her that i was interested in the dry or damage remedy line (due to LHCF reviews) she recommended i try the samples first and see which i like before purchasing any of them. the manager wanted to make sure i find what i would be happy with (i think she saw how compasionate i was about the health of my hair) rather than trying to just make a quick sale.

another thing stood out to me is that they were not trying to educate while having damaged hair on their head. you know, like a beautician giving you her card and her hair show signs of severe damage. well the three employees (one being the manager) hair looked very healthy. oh my god...VERY healthy.

well i did not mean to mess up this thread but i am very big on customer service. and i thought it was worth sharing.

now back to the thread at hand: i will be able to give my opinion about the damage remedy on tuesday after i wash my hair. then next week i will tell you about the dry remedy. i hope one of these poo and cond combos work for me because i really would like to find a complete line i can use. so we'll see.

Peachy, what products did you use in your siggy pic? Your hair is gorgeous!!!

thank you dear

OJON restorative treatment. i had just gotten a dominican blow out about a week before taking that pic. although my hair was really straight like i wanted, it just seemed like it had no life left. so i treated my hair for about a week with OJON and as you can see it brought back that life. OJON is really good for those times when i need to give my hair a little extra care like after putting a lot of heat in it. it is too pricey to use everyday like i used to a couple of years ago. but it is still my go to jar. its my MAGIC in a bottle. lol
