... Is it allowable to dampen your hair before this procedure?

I will be using SE Mild LYE... in 4 different sections like others.

I have Porosity control.... use it now or after my texlax?

I've relaxed on wet hair before with no problems.

I used PC before, during, and or after chemical treatments. It's great wherever/whenever you use it. Your hair will benefit.

Bumping for you.:yep:

I hope it turn out well! I'm sure it will be lovely!

Alright...

I washed with porosity control.

Applied coconut oil all over my head in 4 sections, then covered with ORS replenishing.

Then applied SE Mild.... 10 minutes to the back (the biggest and curliest) and middle (the tiniest curls and the coarsest) and then 6 minutes inthe front...

it looks the same lmao!
I will see how much shrinkage I get but I think it didn't even process.

Yeah, that would do next to nothing to my hair too

That was a lot of protection that you put on, plus it was a mild relaxer. Maybe next time just add a spoonful of each to the relaxer (try SAA in it too, that is great!)

If you know your hair is resistant or coarse, a mild relaxer may not even cut it. I texturize with a super strength! Just something to think about :yep:

Good thing is your hair has minimal damage! I wouldn't be afraid for another try at it in few weeks :)

My hair processes too easily, but I think I did over protect it.
I won't tell you ladies what I did in an attempt to correct this, but it didn't work and the hair is still on my head. I will just be babying my silky kinks (that are just silky and not texturized!:lachen:) and call it a day for at least a month and a half....

My hair just ain't ready yet...

TheLaurynDoll, next time you should test small sections of your hair to see how long they take to process before doing your entire head. I have several different textures like you and that really helped. Also, actually texturizing in sections is very helpful, that way you can really focus on that section and will be less likely to run out of time. Also, I wouldn't wet the hair ahead of time either, if you need help detangling I think it would be better to lightly blowdry 2-3 days ahead instead of wetting it. I would think that damp hair would really slow down the process too much.

Thanks. I will try again in a few weeks. Overall as long as I can texturize the front without it becoming "straight," I'll be okay. The middle might have to process first.

And I agree that wetting it might have slowed it down.

Well I'm ready for my spanking...

the first try didn't yiled anything...

So the second time I coated my hair with just coconut oil... and it just looked the same... lmao... covered in oil....

then I did it Wet the 3rd time for ten minutes... now my hair is just frizz free... :lachen:

After the 3rd time in one day.... in a span of 12 hours... I realized I was lucky to have hair on my head and I've slapped loads of DC on it...

I am not going anywhere near that jar for at least 6 weeks.
More or less I just wanted to make the texture manageable, but Iris, you're right, I'll probably be happy this didn't pan out. I love my texture... and I am praying that the silkiness is the only side effect from my weekend fiasco!!!

- Ready for the spankings~!-

I know you did not texlax your hair three times in one day!!!! :nono: I wouldn't have any hair on my head after that, you're right you are lucky!!!

I know... I think wet, supercoated hair is the only thing that saved me.

SE Mild also has NO relaxer smell.... You know how you're used to smelling like you have pperm in your head? Nothing, no smell at all. I knew I was in overkill when I felt it on my scalp.

I will I will.... Lol, I have had a numbing headache all day today... I think it's a toxin overload. :( What was I thinking?

OHHH NO! :nono:

I hope you feel better mama! drink lots of water!

just one more :spank:

:sneakyhug: girl I just really hope ur hair is gonna be ok!

& you feel better sweetie!

Lol, I'm pretty sure it will be... I just have to baby it like the dickens with extra OCT love.

yeah I would say in this case the protein would be good for it :yep:

but if it didnt process are the protein bonds broken and still need alot of protein? I dunno

I'm sure you know what to do when and how though :yep:

I think I subconsciously was NOT ready to relax...

Think about it.

If I didn't coat it so much, it might have processed.... I subconsciously did everything I could to thwart processing.

On the other hand, if it took, I would've had overprocessed or NO hair left by now, and been irritated that I did it in the first place.

Lauryn wasn't ready... -lol-.

I won't Aphogee, but OCT or MT would be aight for now I spose.

yeah that makes sense , you were not ready for the downsides or risks or you were afraid of them, so you did everything to avoid those things thus no relaxed hair, and I guess it worked out truly for the best since you werent really ready girl!
