Personally, I'd say the overnight baggying. Steam is a shorter, more intense burst of moisture, whereas the baggying is a slower, gentler process.
I think I need to pull an overnighter myself this weekend -hair is starting to feel a lil drier than I like it to be - tis what happens when you skip and week+ of DC's......
:burning:
I bumped a post for you.Dumb question but real quickly, how can you steam at home?

I've found steaming to be much more moisturizing and much less hassle than overnight bagging, for my lifestyle. I've done both methods, steam deeply infuses moisture and my hair tends to not dry out so quickly.
Penspringz...if you do a forum search you will find instructions from samathajones on how to steam at home...or you can buy a professional steamer.
I baggied for the first time the other day. I found no harm done, but I still want more moisture. I either need to do it more often, or I could just steam my hair: I'd rather steam it.
Off to search for Samamtha's thread on steaming.
Thanks E for the info.
You're welcome...Blessed_Angel...you'll love steam...![]()
Are there different ways to do it (I've heard of someone doing with a hot towel over their shower cap, I think). Or does everyone do it the same way. Which way do you do it?
Thanks again.
I'm not too sure about samatha's directions...I think it's hot turbie, shower cap, then under a hair dryer or heat cap to complete the steaming process. There are rave reviews and much success reported from using the turbie method.
I don't own a hair dryer and my heat cap sucks so I purchased a floor steamer for my treatments but either method yields beneficial results.

Can you explain how you make this work?
I've got this model and from this company. Right now it's on e-bay for $139.00 + free shipping. I can assure you this vendor stands behind the product w/no hassels. It's an import manufactured in China.

I fill the plastic bowl on top w/distlled water, plug it in and sit under the hood for 20 or 30 minutes. It's got a digital timer, temp control and easy to move around.
I'm probably just as excited about this steamer as the Pibbs ladies are excited about that dryer....![]()
