of course it can, mine turn out pretty good too![]()
What is your technique? TIA.
thanks for the replies, can yall post some pictures of your results? Thanks![]()
ETA: bigdeelight your rollerset and colour are gorgeous.
Forgive me if this is an off question, but why roller set if you are going to flat iron anyway. I heard roller-setting the hair is healthier, but flat ironing can cause damage. BTW, I tried my first roller set, I liked it but I didnt' stay under the dryer long enough, now I know better, Thanks for all the replies ladies!Sure. Here's a picture of my accidental rollerset (before flat ironing it straight)

You can rollerset instead of blowdrying before flat ironing. If I flat iron my air dryed hair it looks a hot mess. It has to be stretched out w/the blowdryer or rollerset first. My rollersets never look as good as the one posted though. I think they turn out better on finer texture hair. My hair is kinky and coarse, my roller sets looks like a fro and end up being pretty pointless unless I"m doing something wrong.
Do you guys sit under the drier or air dry your roller set?
I followed macherie's instructions that you can find in the link below.

I followed it pretty much to a tee except I rolled the hair upwards (at least the Mohawk, the side's are a bit difficult). Use a really good leave-in (I love super skinny serum by Paul Mitchell) & a good heat protector (I use Redken heat glide) & most importantly have your hair sobbing wet, I always have a spray bottle with (cold) water by my side. The wetter the easier and the better the results. Also I dry with heat (I might let it air dry the last twenty minutes though)
these are pictures of how it looks:

I don't have any pictures and right now I'm working out like a madwoman at the gym so I probably wont roller set in a while, but when I do I'll post them.![]()
The pics are so on point for a learner like myself. But girl, your hair looks bone straight (IMHO); mine is soooo curly, I can't wait to see what it's gonna do.
Will attempt this Saturday night when I get in and am relaxed.
Thanks so much.

actually lovinlockz, the picz u saw or rather u viewed, if im not mistaken, those r picz of macherie'z tutorial video on rollersetting...& yez her texture of hair iz a lil bit straighter which n my opinion givez a betta set....but rollersetz can b dun on all typez of hair...basically itz just technique & product...i believe the lezz product u use, the better the setz....but the choice iz urz....good luck!!!
I hope so because Im transtioning and I want to continue with my weekly rollersets! I guess once I become fully natural I will have to change thing up and fnd better products. Thanks! I was getting a little discouraged.
Don't get discouraged. After you find the right combo of products and get the technique down you'll be fine.I hope so because Im transtioning and I want to continue with my weekly rollersets! Oh I'm sorry, I should have clarified that, that is not me in the pics. That's macherieamore. I posted them because I use her tutorial and do mine the same way.The pics are so on point for a learner like myself. I flat ironed and roller set my hair last night.
Looked great when I left the house and was a fro by the time I got to the bus stop.
Had to put it in a ponytail.
Awww Booh! After all dat work. What are you going to do now? I mean, will you try other products? Did you use the SMB??????
I need to post some stuff of the product exchange, I have so many items that don't work for me.
