Your curls wore beautifully! I bet you got tons of compliments!

FYI, I found that I could curl my hair at night to prolong the style even more. I'd just set the curls vertically, either pinned or with small plastic rollers. I found that kept the look fresher for a little longer.

Each and every pic is beautiful. I love the "big hair" photos. Then again ... I love big hair.

AngelDoll, I love all of them

Now you have a sister clutching her pocketbook,

"will not buy Curlformers",
"will not buy Curlformers",

AngelDoll, why girl, why?

Very very nice.. I haven't used my curlformers in a min because I kept having broken hairs. I may revisit them and try to be a bit gentler.

Okay wait wait, I have a few questions. I love love love your curls by the way and I was just about to start a thread about this. I CANNOT for the life of me get the darn curls to stay. The first time I experiemented on dry hair and the curls came out looking awesome, but by the time I made it work only the ends were still curly, so I thought maybe it was b/c of the humidity and the fact that it was dry/unwashed hair. Fast forward a week and I tried it again. This time I freshly relaxed, so I washed, DC, and then did it as if I was doing Macherie's rollerset. It was a horrid experience, hair being rooted out in clumps, all sorts of tangling and unnecessary tugging; and then when I took it out the next morning, I hated the curl. It was too tight and the hair wasn't soft, but extra crunchy. And still the curls didn't last.

So tell me, what do I need to do? Where can I get this SMB stuff and how does it work? My biggest concern is when I sleep at night, how do you tie your head so that you don't smash the curl?

Your curls came out great! I'm going to have to definitely look into getting Sabino and trying a variation of this style

Your curls held up pretty well. I have got to get some SMB for the next time I use my Curlformers.

A little OT, but has anyone set their hair with Curlformers, combed the curls out, and worn that as a style? I would love to find out how that looked.

I would like to know this also. How do you keep the curls from smooshing overnight?

Absolutely beautiful! From the first to the last pic, I loved it!

Thank you so much. It was very interesting to see how my hair transformed from day to day.

Thank you. I really have gotten a lot of compliments. Also, several people asked me if "all of that was my hair.":lachen::lachen:

I will try your method for keeping the curls longer/fresher the next time I sat my hair w/ curlformers.

Your hair and you (even w/o seeing your eyes, I can tell) are beautiful! :rosebud: You have a gorgeous smile like one of my aunts.

Thanks LadyEquire.

Who me, why surely I wouldn't do that.:rolleyes: :lachen::lachen:

Love your hair and that baby is just beautiful.:yep:

Can someone tell what is SMB please?

I know somebody already answerd this question. But I'll answer again, it's Sabino Moisture Block. I love it!!!!

I did not have any breakage at all. Be sure not to try and pull too much hair through the curlformer.

I was just coming to post in this thread.... :)

I didn't have any breakage last nite. I did it on SOAKING wet hair, I think that made the difference. Plus I used smaller sections.

How did you seperate the curls to break up the parts? Or did you just let them do their own thing? I hope that question makes sense... like when you remove the curlformers and you see all your parts... did you do something like use a rat tail comb to break them up?

The bolded parts are the key to successfully using the curlformers, IMO.

I did not separate the curls, over time, they just separated on their own.
But you probably can separate them gently with a rattail comb or your fingers.

*gasp* OMG what beautiful curls!!!
Thank you for sharing your pictures. I would love to try curlformers when my hair is at your length (straight). BTW I also loved the 3rd day "big hair" its very beautiful

Wow, it's like your hair styled itself over time. Absolutely gorgeous. Bravo. And THANK you for sharing!

Thank you. And you are so right, as the days progressed my hair had a life of it's own and did it's own thing. I loved how I did't have to do much to my hair at all.

ITA!!!!! FAB :yep:

Thanks a bunch!!

Well, I'm sorry that you did not have much success so far.

When I set my hair on the curlformers, my hair was soak and wet. After I cw, I applied giovanni direct leave in, then I applied the two small sample vials of sabino moisture block all over my hair (my hair was parted in four sections). I started at the back of my head and applied the curlformers to each section until I was finished. I made sure that my hair stayed wet through the whole process. Also, I made sure that I did not try to pull too much hair through the curlformer. It took me about an hour to complete my whole head. I used 36 curlformers and five orange flexirods (I need at least one more pack of extra long and wide curlformers). I sat under a hooded dryer on low heat for about an hour to dry hair.

At night I just sleep with satin cap on and in the morning I take the cap off and shake my head and go. I have really enjoyed my hair, because my curls have lasted a whole week.

You can get the sabino moistur block here:

Hope this helps.
