I'm gonna say maxiglide if you're all natural. My siggy pic was flat ironed with a maxiglide.

I have both and I prefer the maxiglide, hands down.

The steam feature and teeth get my hair relaxer straight. The chi not so much and it made my ends feel crispy. If I were back home I would send you my chi for free, thats just how much I dont care for it.

That's right...I forgot that you did purchase the Maxiglide and I'm happy that you like it...I knew you would! I use the steam feature as well:yep:

I had to kick myself for waiting for so long. As a matter of fact I credit the maxiglide for keeping me from relaxing. Aint nothing in a jar can get my hair looking like the maxiglide does. The steams have the ends of your hair looking brand new

I say both.

I airdry, then go over my whole head with the maxiglide (1 SLOW swipe per small section).

Then go back over it with the other flatiron (1 SLOW swipe per section).

Very nice results.

I have had the Maxiglide and the FHI and IMO the FHI is best (I'm guessing the Chi and the Fhi are similar). The maxiglide tore my hair out so I took it right back to BB&B.

Make sure you buy the real thing in a CHI and don't fall for the copy cat conterfit ones that come with a free sample bottle of CHI product....

how much are we talking for these flat irons. Maxiglide looks to be about $100 on HSN. How much is the CHI. Maxiglide looks like it would tear my hair out. (I'm a relaxed head). I do see why natural heads would like it though. What is special about the CHI?

It does help with keeping you from the creamy crack:lachen:

When i get an urge...I pull it out girl...for real:yep:

It calms those urges real quick:look:

Maxiglide without a doubt. I was a Chi user for years and it does great at getting your hair straight. But when I use maxiglide my hair stays moisturized much longer and since using the maxiglide I never see those small pieces of breakage (like 1/8 - 1/4 inch ends on my sink) when I comb or brush my hair.

My hair is not as straight when I flat iron with the maxiglide as it was with the Chi but it feels much better and is much healthier. Also, I can get the straighter/silkier Chi look after maxigliding by wrapping it and tying it down for a few minutes or by maxigliding after I rollerset. A couple of extra steps but worth it for healthier hair, more moisture and less breakage.

I read a couple of these LHCF threads, and decided on a CHI. On Folica, the CHI and SEDU get much more reviews than the Maxiglide. I ordered mine from BeautyChoice.com, using a 15% coupon code. Folica would have charged me $30 for S&H.

I almost ended up with a Maxiglide originally. My Asian friend wanted to sell hers to me when she first got it, then changed her mind. When I went to homeshoppingchannel.com in hopes of getting one for myself, they weren't selling it anymore.

I'm not too picky about the brand name, as long as the results are closer to salon quality and better than my drug store Conair (steam) flat iron.

ITA...I have been back and forth w/ these two flat irons. I am sticking w/ the maxiglide because it leaves the hair feeling more moisturized. The silkiness that the Chi gives eventually dries out, due to the heat. There is no way to adjust the amount of heat it puts out, well at least the one i have I can't adjust it. I would used the Chi and my hair would be breaking little strand here and there, and as thin a my hair is, i couldn't stand that much heat i guess....i am relaxed, so i'm sure that has something to do w/ as well.

The Maxiglide down fall is the teeth, although if you use it properly it will not pull or tear the hair. After detangling the hair, I go back over it on a lower heat setting w/ the smooth plates and it gives it a much silker look and bounce to the curls.

I can't decide. I'm going to buy both flat irons and do half of my head with each and keep the one that I like the most. :look:

Maxiglide gets my vote. I used my cousin's CHI when I was out of town and my hair didn't look nearly as straight or as good as the maxiglide. I love the steam burst and it gets my hair a lot straighter, shiny and bouncier. I so want to get the smaller version from Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Yeah I'm having a similar issues. I have really fine, thin hair and it i think my CHI fries the hell out of my hair because you can't adjust the temperature, but it definitely gets your hair straight. so, i was going to get a maxi glide but from the commercials and pics of some of the ladies on the board, it doesnt get your hair all that straight. well not straight like i like i like it.

For the ladies with the maxi, do you have any trouble getting roots straight (not a question for relaxed heads, just wanted to know can u get really close with the maxi, ion like no puffy roots and im not relaxed).

I ordered my Maxiglide today and I'll be sending my Sedu back. Because I'm natural, the Sedu doesn't get my ends straight. It did work pretty well on the rest of my hair though.
