I don't really get to the hair section very often anymore because I'm always reading the off topic section, but some of you probably remember that I have rollerset and flat ironed my own hair for years. Well.....I've decided that I'm going to give a stylist a try. The humidity is very high here, and the hotter it gets, the more frizzy my hair gets. I've never had a professional press before, and there's no time like the present. I transitioned with rollersets and flat-irons, and even when I cut the relaxed ends all off, I just kept doing the same thing.

I'll post pictures on Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed. I really need a good trim too, but I'm afraid to let her do all that. This is my first time to go to this salon.

Hey good luck. Just make sure you're aware of everything he/she is doing and you should be ok. Can't wait to see pics.

Make sure she uses a good heat protectant, and that your hair is 120% fully detangled. Otherwise you will lose hair unnecessarily.

and please make sure she doesnt cut your hair.

I need a trim really bad, but I'm going to just wait and see how comfortable I feel with her. If I don't like what she's doing, I will just gather my things and walk out with only 1 or 2 pressed sections!:yep:

I think I may bring my own heat protectant just in case.

She told me that she uses some sort of pressing cream or wax (I can't quite remember exactly what she said, but I told her that I didn't want my hair greasy.)

Good luck, I hope it isnt a 'hard' press and thats just the wording you chose, I heard the hard presses cause heat damage, no extra extra hot combs :nono:

you could let her do it and them trim it yourself when you get home if you feel uncomfortable
