So I know a lot of ladies here love Sabino MB, and while I do admit that it keeps my straightened hair from reverting (after maxiglide) it really does not keep it from getting puffy throughout the day.

Ex. In the morning, after I style my hair, it’s smooth, sleek and wavy, however by mid afternoon; it’s all poofy so I usually just put it up.

Basically, I have this great, sexy hair style that lasts about 4 hours.:perplexed

My question is whether or not you ladies have found any products that combat the frizz all day – not just the reverting part – but it will actually keep you hair looking the way it did when you styled it that morning?

Sabino MB, after several trials and tribulations, just isn’t that be all, end all product for me.

Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated!!!

I have used MB for the past 2 washes and so far so good for me, I know everything doesn't work for everybody but have you been using it as suggested? I know that others on here like Aveda's anti humectant pomade, (keep forgetting its under my bathroom sink) newho, if MB fails on me I too will need to know the answer. "MB don't fail me now, gotta turn this hairstyle out" lmao at myself!

I used Herbal Essence: none of your frizzness: leave in creme: and I just used it cuz it was the only one around the house: and OMG: this stuff took my frizz away and it made it smooth and sleak: my hair has never felt this lusturous and soft before

Yeah, I've used it several ways...Roots, ends comb through as instructed, which didn't keep the frizzies at bay and then like I stated in the Sabino thread, roots, ends comb through on each section which worked best.

And don't misunderstand, I think if I were in a vacuum with controlled humidity all day my hair'd be looking bangin', but because I'm in air conditioning, then a humid elevator, then outside in the elements, then back in air conditioning in an office that may feel like a sauna at times, the humidity level is always fluctuating.

And I think MB does what it states as far as keeping my hair from reverting. My hair doesn't revert, my hair is still straight persay, but it's also poofy by the time 1pm rolls around.

Chi Silk Infusion...went to the beach for a week and my curls fell a little flat but my hair still didn't frizz

Hmm…I’m wondering if it’s also the method in which I straighten my hair. Right now it’s wash, condition, braid to stretch/dry, and then use the maxiglide.

Are the natural ladies who rollerset or blowdry with a round natural bristle brush having better results?

I dunno, I’m thinking maybe the process leading up to the final style may be an issue as well. Like, if I were to use some of the curl softening methods mentioned on here, i.e. baking soda condi or lime/yogurt mixture before hand followed by round brush blowdry with the MB, would that produce longer lasting results where the style holds ALL day???

I just want to be able to wear my natural hair straight as well as its usual curly glory.

The process that you described is exactly what I did today. I am not fully natural, but I am about 16 months into my transition (and my hair ain't no punk:lachen:).

I added some BS to my condish and let it sit for about 30 minutes to soften these curls (I am a 4a, by the way). I added my Giovanni Direct leave in then added my MB. I used a round brush to blow-dry then touched up with my FHI flat iron (which I am in love with by the way).

I usually frizz at the THOUGHT of water, but I am still silky. Let me add that it is July and I am in Baghdad....plus I sweat a lot anyway...and still no frizz. I normally air dry, but I think the addition of the round brush made a difference for me.

Thank you so much for your input girl2love. That's exactly the suggestions I'm looking for.

I have a ionic hand blow dryer that I bought from Sally's a while back. It works well, but I've never incorporated the round brush method.

No harm in it out though trying.

I had the same problem you had with Sabino MB, and I used the Maxiglide too. Another member, who also used the maxiglide at first, told me they had better results when they used a regular flat iron. I went and bought a great flat iron (tourmaline and ionic), and have not had any problems since. Try a regular flat iron, at least ceramic or better.:yep:
