I know fotki is the big one, but are there other places better suited to my needs?

I plan to make a very personal sort of diary of my hair growth, weight loss, personal struggles and other things.

I'd like a place that's easy to post videos, text and pics... that I can somewhat control what is seen by the general public that is free.

I'm leaning towards fotki, but what are my other options?

All I can think of is flickr and picturetrail but fotki is the best I think

I've made albums at Flickr and Webshots. I'd advise against Photobucket. I use Photobucket and I like it, but not for sharing whole albums. I like Fotki's different capabilities, too, but I HATE their flashing ads. After fotki I'd choose flickr if the pictures aren't private or very personal to you, webshots if they are more so.

I agree with Mwedzi and Iris, fotki I believe is the best for whole almums that you can name and categorize. Also you can get the trial version and keep it (no need to upgrade) because you get an additional 10MB of space once a month to add more pics as you go along. I like fotki even though I also have photobucket as well (but I rarely use it).

I like Flickr, a lot.

You can make your pictures private, if you like, which makes everything attached to the pic private as well, and you can do loads of comments, and etc, on the various pics. You can set up different sets (albums) and collate them into collections, and you can do collections of collections, too.

You can set up friends, and have friends only pictures, etc.

I really like flickr.
