Who is using this as a pre poo, how often and what were your results.

I have been using it after I shampoo, but since I am going back to DC on dry hair I was wondering how its working for others.

Bump---I decided i need more protein weekly, and I have this and Joico Kpak with similar ingredients that i planned to use after shampooing, but then I decided to keep on DC'ing after shampooing , and was also wondering if this would be bennifical before shampooing.

I used it yesterday as a pre-poo mixed with a little Affirm 5 in 1 reconsructor for an hour and my hair came out pretty good. It feels noticeably stronger IMO. I didn't get the slip like I do when I use it after my poo though so I had to use a moisturizing deep conditioner afterwards for an hour.

Thanks Aggie glad to hear that it came out pretty good. I have used other things for my DC on dry hair, but just not this product, so I think I am going to go ahead and give it a try and just a moisturizing shampoo, and conditioner afterwards since it does have some protein in it. Dont want to run into and try to avoid the overload.

You're quite welcomed mrshicks.

I love this product. I've been using it consisting since I colored my hair back in November. I use it as my protein treatment. I follow up with a moisturizing condish after.

I used to use it weekly for a pre-poo with heat for 20-30 mins.
I did this for several months and had no adverse effects on my hair.
However, my hair doesn't like heavy proteins so this works well for me.
Only stopped because I am lazy and I don't want to sit under the dryer twice (I rollerset) since it is hot now.
I still use it weekly, but just while in the shower and not as long

I use it as a pre-poo with my Mastex heating cap for 20 min ,then shampoo and deep conditioned with Silicon Mix and my hair turns out great.
I like the original formula best and I bought 5 16oz for $4.59 2 months ago.

I know...I hate that the formula changed. I have only been able to find one bottle of the old formula. I'm so upset!

You got a very good deal. I never used tried the original formula, so how does it compare to the one that is out now.

I need help please! I just used the Reconstructor last night and DCed after (with Queen helene cholesterol, lekair tea tree, Joico Moisture recovery) mix and let sit for about 30 minutes, then i rinsed and my hair was still hard!! :wallbash: I put the Pantene Mask on my hair overnight to give it deep moisture and when i woke up it felt the same! what can i do to get it back to being softy and lovely? or what products can I use to help? I currently use a lot of Garnier products for curly hair, my oils include Castor, Coconut and EVOO, and my other conditioners are Suave coconut, and ApHogee moisture balance. If all i need it more moisture, what is an excellent moisturizing conditioner?

Did you use the 2 minute formula or the stronger, watery Aphogee? Did you rinse the protein out really well? I always make sure to rinse all of my protein treatments out very well- which can sometimes take up to ten minutes of straight rinsing.

Did you apply a thick enough coating of your moisturizing condish? After a protein treatment, I usually apply my moisturizing condish really thick and make sure to get every strand from root to tip. Be sure to do more than a superficial coating of the top hairs.

I noticed that you use a mixture with Queen Helene Cholesterol- does that have any protein?

My hair really likes protein but I've found out that I cannot use cholesterol condishes after a protein condish. My fav cholesterol has collagen and even though its not the first or second ingredient- it still gives my hair enough strength that I won't use it after a protein condish.

Next time don't use the cholesterol after the protein- use your Joico or Pantene by itself- and see if it works better. HTH

After I use a protein treatment I follow with a moisturizing conditioner with out any protein. I believe the ones you mentioned all have some protein in them. That may be the problem. I suggest trying a conditioner like Elasta QP DPR 11 or Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose. I mix these two together with coconut oil sometimes with great results. But both work great on their own.

I am loving my Aphogee 2 Min Reconstructor. :love2: Since I've begun to use it my hair is feeling a lot stronger and thicker than ever. I'm also using the Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment followed by the Balancing Moisturizer. My hair feels really good. I'm hoping that using this product will help to grow in my hair that has suffered from extreme breakage and thinning. So far so good!

I have this as a pre-poo on my hair right now. It works well for me. I follow it up with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner
