Wow!!!! All of these pictures are truly inspirational and they give me so much hope. My hair grows fast, but I want BSL already :wallbash:

Here's a comparison shot of my hair in Nov. 07 and my hair in May 08. I need to take new pictures, but I'll wait till I straighten again :drunk:

July 6, 2005, right after the big chop:

Now in 2008 (damp and dry *on low shrinkage day!*):

Unlike some, I love a v-shaped hemline. My first inspiration ever to growing my hair long was a woman I saw in Israel who had very, very curly waist length hair with a v-shaped hemline. I love the way it looks and want to keep it, but I might want to get rid of my other layers one day down the road. I doubt I'll cut any time soon, though. So they are staying for now.

The last length check pic I took (maybe in May?), my hair was below hip length when stretched:

I'm working towards tailbone by the end of 2008. Ultimately, classic when stretched would be nice.

I remember very well how I felt when I first cut so much of my hair off. I still have this pic of the cut off hair that I placed in a ziploc freezer bag! (I don't have the old hair anymore, though!):

byehair.jpg

The big chop was wonderful in some ways, but I was impatient for it to grow. I went through a few awkward phases (like triangle head) that I thought would take forever to grow out! I know during those different phases and lengths, time seemed to creep by. But looking back on it all now it seems like it happened in a flash! I can't believe that on July 6th, it will be three years since the chop!

HHG to everyone. Hang in there and be gentle and consistent with what works for YOUR hair and you will reach your goals. Take pics so you can see how much progress you are making!

:love: Your hair grows so fast!! I am so in love. I think our hair types are very similar. Have you figured out a way to make your curls come back or are you waved up permanently?

That's my hair right now, a v-shaped weird triangle when I wear it curly. Your hair is beautiful!!! I was going to do a blunt cut, but I think I'm going to keep my v-shape because its so different.

Hey Bint! :)

I think our hair types are similar too. (We both had similar relaxer issues IIRC, right?) My hair does seem to have turned mostly wavy and it just keeps getting more so as it grows. It's still curly on the ends, but the rest--wave city. What's a girl to do? I don't think their coming back, unless I cut it significantly which I won't do. It's the weight of the hair that stretches the curls out, I'm pretty sure.
