PM you for what , you dont own the market on Keratin!
some things are just across the board with this! This is a hard protein! and too much use has risks! pont blank!

I never said I did. Someone can pm me if they want to talk about it.

I haven't been rude to you at all in this thread so I don't understand why you feel the need to talk to me like this. Seriously, what is the problem. I don't have a problem with you expressing your concerns and showing your logic but I am going to use mine as well and post.

Thank you!!!!!!!

This is plain crazy shyt!!!!!!!

Come on ladies. Can we please all just get along. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We are all intellegent adults here.

I have just recently built up enough courage to start posting, but after reading this thread, I think I will just start lurking again.

I believe that OP does not have a hidden agenda, but she is only trying to help.

I .

When it comes to nature vs nuture I believe in both.

yeah i still don't know why it's referred to as "nature vs. nurture." why are they in competition? everything has both elements in it, sometimes it's more of one than the other that's all.

Ive asked you several questions that just went unanswered and pretty much it feels as though your saying ' you know she doesnt know what she is talking about so just PM me'! which is fine, but like I said some thing are still across the board with the risks of regular use of Keratin!

love the hair board growth aide camaraderie

its just so touching and so REAL! :yep:

like I said ya'll dont play!

but no matter what ya'll say you cannot deny daily use of keratin poses risks! Serious risks for hair loss and hard hair!

but ya'll can keep doing what you do! please do!

Because this aint about ya'll its about those that WOULDNT be so willing to take possible risks or jump on the growth aide bandwagon

thats who its for :yep:

I hope those using it stay safe!

Sorry I must be slow because 9 pages later I'm still confused not to jump back a million posts ago but I use keratin once maybe twice a week that's not frequently enough to have to worry about the keratosis pilaris thing?

Sorry you feel that way but for starters, some people feel intimidated to post when they see a thread that is so hostile. If someone wants to pm you, I am sure they will. I have to leave soon to go study for a test, hence the nature of my message.

Besides it aint like I aint got tag teamed both here and on that other thread! and the bottom friggin line, is why is it being taken as so against ya'll. when really this shyt DOES Have risks! period! how did I become the bad person by stating that fact!

damned if you do and damned if you dont around here! For those that dont know of the risks and just want to jump on the wagon, this needs to be said! but ya'll got a gag order going on or the person that speaks up get tag teamed! and why wont you all just admit the simple fact that was the only point all along, that THIS HAS RISKS TO DO HARM TO YOUR HAIR!

DAMN!

Since you asked......

Everything is about synergy. Yes these products have keratin but again, the concentration isn't the same as lets say an Aphogee treatment. They also have other ingredients, emollient, humectant, and occulsive agents that moisturize and rejuventate the hair. They synergist effect somes from the fact that our hair is protein and in order for it to hold on to moisture, you hair has to have adequate amounts of protein. Everyone has a different protein tolerance since everyone has different hair. The ovation system is acutally a balanced system because one the products, designed to be used after the cell therapy, is a creme rinse that is extremely moisturizing and humectant.

Many naturals who are using this product that normally don't use protein are seeing positive changes in their hair. Texture and strength wise without seeing the trademark protein overload effects like hair breakage. Just go into the thread and see for yourself. I actually am very sensitive to protein. My hair needs is but I get overload very easily and my hair is thriving with my daily use of this product. My hair texture has improved, my hair responds better to my usual products and my scalp, for once in my life, isn't constantly irritated and inflammed.

Yes...you are right. Not only has my texture improved (which I still give Mango Butter and EVOO props) my scalp is healthy...I don't have dry scalp I use to have and my hair has never looked better...and don't forget longer. I waited 3 months before I showed any results because I wanted to make sure that this stuff is working on my hair. So, growth isn't the only blessing I received from this....:yep:

OP, I understand that you are trying to help those that may not know that something "may" hurt them, but you are being condescending to those that use it and I think that is what the problem is...I don't think that people don't want you to voice your opinion..but, you must remember that as adults...we will make decisions based on what we feel is right for us and we don't want to be talked down too because of we do.

Yes, I will be careful with everything I use on my body, from head to toe....that's including natural products as well.

Anything in excess isnt good.

Some molecules are too large to be penetrable.

Thats all.

lol i have my settings on 40 posts per page so this only 3pgs long:grin: but i hope your not at risk, cause i use mt every other day:perplexed

Trust it wasnt me that started the hostility I dont appeciate being treated like I cant speak up about something or I get hositlity and ridiculed!

I hope you don't think I was being hostile, that's not the way my posts were meant to come across.

For me it's about having a dialouge. No harm no foul.

nah it was being called names and what not and being told I had a tone when I did not and being told how I shouldnt have posted this or that when I was too just having dialogue!

I have never said that too you. Save the hostility for those being hostile with you but is wasn't me hun.

well I'm sorry if anything is getting misdirected I DONT mean to do that either! its just frustrating! when I know this stuff can really actually make your hair hard and not be safe but how it got twisted into me being the bad guy because I pointed that out or said be careful is beyond me

so hell yeah I got frustrated!

I dont mean to be condescending to those that use it! not at all! and it was ME that was 'talked down to' in the first place! I HAVE NOT done that to anyone! For those that use it its fine that you want to defend it to the end, but I saw a person that already suffered a set back and heard of others in the thread. in my mind its like why are you guys doing this to your hair? There are safter ways than to take these risks. I cant grasp the risk taking, but never once in the other thread did I deny that I have seen it working for some and the growth and agreed that its possible to work for some with no negative effect , but the damn moment I said there is another way and I was shocked to know one of them was made for horses (how can that be proven safe) and I expressed concern and the fact that ther is a safer way, I got attacked!

I think the op was just pointing this out to some who dont know the causes of protein, just like a high protein diet is not good either theres a ton of research on it, too much of one thing is not good, just like too much vit, c, vit a or b can become toxic just like not enough of it can be harmful, if you are using protien in moderation it should be fine...

you know thank you so much! as I myself am living with such a situation right now! Thats why it seems to me that it could possibly be an imposed condition

since i MYSELF have one!

Even though a disease is said to be genetic (not speaking solely of keratosis pilaris), a lack of or an overdose on a protein/vitamin/macromolecule/etc. can mimic a "genetic" disease in certain cases, so I don't think the OP is overly reaching with her logic. Most "genetic" diseases are also caused by a host of environmental factors that work in conjunction with pre-existing, hereditary factors.

Also, based on what I briefly read on Medline, it seems like a substantial amount of people have this condition (like 40-80% of adolescents, and 50% of adults) and it's further exacerbated by dry skin. Not sure of the effects of topical application of keratin on skin, but if it creates a drying environment could that not then lead to a 'flare-up' in the many of us who already have this disorder?

Just for info:

Mega-Tek Cell Rebuilder is a hair product created by EQyss. It was originally designed for humans as a hair cell regenerator for hair that had been damaged by perm, chemicals, or heat. Currently, it is marketed for pets and horses, but when EQyss increased some of the ingredients to better penetrate thick horse hair . . . VOILA! Hair growth benefits were noticed for humans as well.

Well, I appreciate that you said that you don't mean to be condescending. I know I didn't talk down to you. You have use some words that I don't believe that others used (also known as c*ss words) that I found to be unecessary, really. But, you do have a right to say what you want just like we do. If some people had problems with this product, I'm sure it was the application and directions that were not followed..because my hair loves this stuff and I have been using it since March. My hair is neither hard, or falling out..it has been flourishing.

I give you your props though...you can blow a thread up in a minute...:lachen:

Have a great night. I'm going to the Temporary Political Forum cause ya'll be too gangsta up in the Hair Forum:lachen:

yeah all the users and lovers of the product are just saying its not their problem for those that dont know that they could read the thousands of posts on the other thread. But I felt many would not and would just see the growth and jump on board! that was my concern , not as much for the users already using it and having done their research, although I still feel this might not be safe-long run-for anyone, I was concerned about those that only read the hype about the growth, as one poster put it all on her head like a conditioner!

well i do that when I AM upset. I dont like the feeling of the 'gag odor' going on with this! and I GOT called a name and insulted , as though it was something bad to want to help someone not lose their friggin hair! So I'm really sorry if my lil cussing offended you, it wasnt at you anyway! it wasnt ever at anyone! it just was what it was!

Gym, I absolutely applaud your wealth of knowledge and the dignified manner in which you conducted yourself in this thread. Thank you.

OP I respect your right to post your concerns, you are entitled. My only issue is that your research was not performed thoroughly enough. If this matter was of true concern, I would have utilized more reputable sources for research. Wikipedia and a google search that pulls up a random website is not valid enough to make a point.

uh oh... might get it for that one!

you know the funny thing is thats all I was saying , I have already seen it working for some, and not for others and THAT was my whole point, plus the possible long term thing

I wasnt against what your saying, I was with you just on the other side of the coin for those that might suffer major set backs or hair loss

Right, but you also have to admit...everyone's hair reacts DIFFERENTLY to products.

One person's hair might hate any kind of protein, be it plant based, keratin, whatever. Mine on the other hand, can't get enough of the stuff, in all it's forms. Which is why it's thriving by using MegaTek and Ovation.

And I don't personally think of these product as growth aids per say...but they work better on my hair than any other shampoo/conditioner I've used since I started my healthy hair journey.

So before you make a sweeping generalization of any product and how it's going to make everyone's hair crumble to dust from their heads, just remember there are so many other factors (other products being used, overall hair health, etc.) that come into play in situations like this.
